A: Pours a beautiful dark brown color with a thin lace of foam on top.

S: Not much here but a light cocoa and coffee with slight hoppy floral.

T: At first sip you get a robust flavor washing the palate first the sweet malty goodness then the hops.

M: Mouthfeel was a bit light/medium wit a tiny amount of carbonation washing the tongue.

D:Very drinkable beer but slightly higher alchohol content would prevent this one for a nice session beer, but def an everyday thing...Mmmm

A: Pours a great black color with tan cap of foam on top.

S: Roasty and robust, licorice and dark malts.

T: Taste is of coffee, dark roasted malts and licorice.

M: Medium. bodied with a light carbonation.

O: Overall a great example of a proper porter, and a fine brew from Thirsty Dog Brewing In Ohio.

[Suggested Glassware: Nonic pint]

The pour was a dark murky brown with some ruby highlights and an average (1-2 finger) light tan frothy head that receded down to a thick film and large collar with good runny lacing.

The aroma was of roasted dark bread malts, a mild resin hop and an earthy yeast with notes of milk chocolate and roasted coffee.

The taste was very malty and quite roasty with a bold chocolate presence early on, progressing with a slightly bitter and silky smooth coffee taste with a mildly harsh bite towards the finish. The flavor lasted an average duration following the swallow with a lightly bitter mocha coffee flavor left lying on the taste buds.

Mouthfeel was just under medium in body with a dry, oily texture and almost flat carbonation, almost.

Overall after sippin' on this brew for a while, it comes off as a delightfully tasty and silky smooth brew with a really good drinkability...

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tulip. Appears a dark brown, with a very thin tan head. The head disappears very quickly, and you can see through the body around the edges.

The nose has hints of sweet chocolate, roasted malts, and even a bit of coffee towards the end. Nothing overly impressive here, and the coffee and chocolate seems to vanish pretty quickly. The taste has the roasted flavors that were present in the nose, but the chocolate and coffee don't carry over to the flavor. Seems pretty one-dimensional to me, and is pretty dry.

The mouthfeel is average, with the right levels of carbonation. Overall, this is a decent porter, but nothing I would chase down, or choose to drink again. There are simply better options available at the same price point.
