Bottle into a Siberian Night pint glass...seemed appropriate.

Pours a nice dark brown, or is it black? Nice and dark but not imp stout-dark. Head is a half finger of quickly dissipating tan. Low-moderate lacing as it goes down. About what I expect with any porter.

Smell is better. Got a bit of the Baltic note. Smell has all the usual good notes, chocolate, coffee, nice roasty malts in general. It has some sourness here, though. This is definitely a Baltic smell. Nice and robust/chocolate/coffee/etc but with the sourness, too. I like.

Taste is a bit different from the smell. It's got the great roastiness you want from, well, any porter. The sour/Baltic note is definitely there but it's in the background. This is on the roasty side more than the sweet side - taste is much more coffee/malt than chocolate/dark fruit.

Mouthfeel is about what you'd expect. Carbonation good, maybe a tiny bit on the over side. Not so creamy as some. A nice medium mouthfeel.

Drinkability is a solid good/above good. It's not a beer that you feel you have to sip to appreciate, really. Solid in all aspects and the taste sticks around just enough. You could drink a couple of these in a row and not have any problem.

Overall, solid. Most of it is a nice basic porter, the kind you could drink easily with a meal or by itself in quantity. The thing that helps this out in all aspects, though, is the Baltic aspect. It's your general US porter but with a nice Baltic note that makes it just -that- much nicer than any basic porter. Good stuff.
