Served vom fass at Griesbrau brewpub in 0.33L glass.
Bold opaque orange color like an orange-honey cream.
Very slight clove aroma, more like yeast and peanut?
Mild on the pallate and delicious by itself.
This place is a gem - when you walk in there is a buffet with local Bavarian food specialties to the right and two large working copper kettles to the left. There's a lot of brewing paraphenalia and displays throughout the large restaurant hall. There is also a courtyard biergarten. If you're in the Garmisch or Oberammergau area, you have to stop by. Better yet book a room in their hotel - I wish I knew about that before I booked my hotel in Munich.

Brought back from Germany by an awesome co worker!
A -- Poured with a large 3 finger head that quickly dissipates golden cloudy yellow color.
S -- Smells very floral and yeasty and sweet.
T -- tastes of a hint of sourness that is gone by the third sip, citrus and spice.
M -- tartness on the finish, smooth otherwise.
O - a good beer with a decent ABV, I am not a big fan of heff but this one gets a thumbs up in my opinion.
PP -- Unknown as it was a gift, Thanks Jean!

Served in a weizen glass from the tap at the Griesbräu in July 09.
A: Cloudy (obviously) orange color, nice large rocky head. It stood a good half inch over top of the glass, as a Weizen should!
S: Classic Weizen smells. Banana, spices, plus a bit of musty hay?
T: Slightly sweet, fruity, (almost citrusy), but with no cloying aftertaste. A perfectly reasonable Weizen. My reluctance to call this beer great, is probably tainted by the fact that the Andechs and Ettal Monestaries are within driving range of the Griesbräu. They do much more masterful Weizens than this one, though I don't want to imply that I didn't enjoy this one.
M: Full and smooth mouthfeel. Little carbonation, plenty of flavor, I wouldn't mind being served this one again at all, it's just not the best example of the style I've ever had.

Dark orange, a lively, thin carbonation. Quite hazy. A Beautiful creamy head, white.
Light in the smell, some banana, some more wheat and yeast.
In the mouth, quite carbonated. Notes of honey, orange flowers, some citric, and again wheat and yeast.
Not so standard weizen.
Notes of flowers and cloves in the aftertaste, with again yeast and orange flowers.
Maybe a little too carbonated.

Sampled vom Faß at the Griesbräu Gasthof on 20SEP06...
Pours a cloudy, golden-orange hue; quite opaque, with no visible carbo within. Topped by a stark white, creamy, solid 1/2" of foam, with decent lacing. Nose has some light clove and a smidge of banana. Enticing, yes! Has a very smooth and creamy feel on the tongue, though body lacks a bit, checking in at a bit less than medium. Wheat very evident here, with more fruit notes. Banana and mild malt sweetness meld with a slight citrus lean. Crisp and dry in the finish. A decent HW, all in all.
Prosit!

Really nice and lovely looking beer. Nice white rocky bumpy head on half liter of cloudy deep orange, almost amber liquid.
Smell of hay and grass with clove and citrus. Really nice for a warm summer day!
Taste of malty wheat with pepper, clove, lemon. So pleasant. Finish is dry and long. Nice, full mouthfeel, but not too sticky.
A great example of your basic Bavarian craft-brewed Hefeweizen. Everything you'd expect, and a little bit more.
