This is a great place to find many elusive beers. I couldn't tell you how many are there, but they have beers from nearly every country. The store is very clean and the stock is well organized to avoid having to scrutinize store shelves. Prices are reasonable.
The service, as other reviewers have pointed out, is not up to par; I might go as far to say terrible. I asked one seemingly intelligent employee if they had anymore Weihenstephaner hefe in stock and was given a nonsensical glare. I attempted to clarify my selection by uttering "You know, the wheat beer..?" and once again recieved the "deer in headlights" look. Oh well. Can't have it all.
Regardless, do not pass this store up. Make yourself a shopping list and most importantly- a budget. I guarantee you'll end up buying a few more beers than expected.

Upon entering, you immediately notice the vast selection of wines and I immediately wondered about the quality and selection of the beer that they could have, as I have walked into other wines stores and immediately walked out due to poor selection, but this places was awesome. They must have had two good and long full isles plus a refrigerator section of nothing but beer. The first isle was pretty much nothing but singles in which you could make your own six-pack, segregated by country and they pretty much had all the good countries. They also had several different offerings from each brewery. They had both the traditional 12oz bottle, plus some 22oz bottles and 750 ml corked bottles. The refrigerator section selection was good, but seemed mostly devoted to BMC. The second isle was mainly warm 6-packs of a lot of the beers that were found in the first isle. Upon check out the staff was friendly and the place was well light. Overall, a supurb store.

Quality: Very clean, big place with a warehouse kind of feel. The beer section takes up two aisles, one for unrefrigerated singles, and then the other is refrigerated packs. It was kind of hard to find things since there isn't really any apparent form of organization that I could determine. The focus here is obviously on wine and spirits, with beer coming in third.
Service: Not really impressed here. Nobody was around to help me. I went to the customer service desk to ask about beers of a certain style, and the person at the desk didn't really know a lot about beer. Ended up having to scour the shelves looking for something interesting. The people shopping around me were actually more helpful than the employees haha.
Selection: This was the real strong point of this place. The size comes in handy for a place like this, and there was a lot of things I've never seen before, along with all the usual suspects. They advertise "1000 beers," which I'm kind of doubtful of, but still it was an excellent selection - one of the best in the area. I jsut wish there was some sort of system or helpful hand to help guide me through it all to find what I was looking for.
Value: Another nice part about a big place like this. Pretty good prices, not too high, but not the best I've ever seen. Still, it's more reasonable than many other places in the area. I'll be coming back because of the prices alone.

I love Total Wine and I frequent this establishment often. The prices are very reasonable and there's an excellent selection of single beers. Almost every time I come here I leave with at least one mixed six pack, regardless of what I came in to purchase. They carry a fairly extensive array of Florida beers, including St. Somewhere, a small brewery located in Tarpon Springs (one of my favorites). I have never asked for help on beer selection but I've found the employees to be very knowledgeable on the wines available.

Pretty nice place. Found it quickly, easy on/off to the freeway, and the selection was pretty good. Beverage Castle had a better selection but at least on the beers I made a note to compare, was quite a bit more expensive. I didn't need any help and was left alone to shop. Checkout was smooth and quick.
Loaded up on DFH, Full Sail, Lagunitas, and Allagash. Saw some Brooklyn but didn't buy. Perhaps I was looking right at the Stoudts, but I didn't see it. Oh well - reason to go back. Didn't buy much in the imported department except a couple London Porter and Saison Dupont bottles. Selection of imports looked pretty decent though. Really liked the selection of singles - some were past their best-by date, but in a couple cases I didn't mind.

I've been to this Total Wine a couple of times now and like the place. Lots of beer available, with everything available in singles, too.
I noticed several beers were past date, though, so watch out.
You can't beat their prices. No one has it cheaper.
And the selection is good. They don't have every beer available in Florida, but they carry most of them. Check out Beer World in Largo for the more exotic Belgians and one-offs.
There's not really any service unless you seek it out. The cashiers are friendly. So you'd better know something about beer, because there are precious few shelf-talkers.
But overall this is a great store and I wish it were closer to Sarasota. I spent $150 there yesterday: I essentially bought one of every beer they have that I haven't tried before.

Ok now this was the kind of store I was looking for. This place was tight. Now the total wines up here are lacking a bit but they had it going on down here. Lots of decent Belgians, but I tend to focus on the micors, of which I found Stoudts! That alone floored me, I hadnt seen it around in a long time. Lots of Rogue, DFH, Terrapin, Great Divide, Allagash, the usuals. Really nice wall of singles, and almost everything warm which always makes my day. This place really has an awesome selection of brews. Definitly top notch and would say you need to stop in if you are in the area, they pretty much have all the bases covered here.

This place has easy access of the highway. No one really acknowledged me being there which is nice to some degree, but they were more focused on stocking the beer or setting some section up.
The highlight of my visit here was meeting Jason Alström. One of the last people Id think to meet in FL.
On to the Beer selection. They have a mix and match singles area. Not all of the beers they carried in packages were in the singles area which I was disappointed to see. One aisle is singles and the next is 6pks or 12pks. Good selection of micro brews and decent prices compared to Beverage Castle. The selection at Beverage Castle trumps this store. Not trying to say the selection here is awful, it's real good. A few I saw Terrapin, Stoudts, Bells, Great Divide, DFH, Rogue, Mad River, Full Sail, Brooklyn. I typically focus on American Microbrews. I can't attest to what imports they had stocked.

I visited this place when I was back home from school, I was rather suprised to find a place like this in Tampa. I was happy to see the craft beer scene improving.
Quality: The lighting and the way the beers were vept looked very good. I didn't notice many beer out of date, but I've only been once.
Selection: The selection was very very good for Tampa. I was very very very impressed, especially since it seemed to be a rather big chain.
Service: Nothing really to note, rather average since I wasn't helped, but everyone seemed friendly.
Value: The value seemed to be pretty reasonable, and most of it was listed rather well.
Don't drink and review.

Went to this beer store while in Tampa visiting my father. This place is very impressive. A huge inventory in every department, nice big singles aisle. Shelf talkers here and there provide information on a few beers. They didn't carry anything I would consider rare, maybe it was just bad timing? As far as the prices go I think it was kinda tit-for-tat. Some beers were in fact much cheaper than I'm used to, while others were comparable or slightly more expensive. This is definately my store when in the Tampa area!
