Had as part of the Oktoberfest tour at the local Old Chicago.
A: Copper golden yellow color with a medium head.
S: Lemon and Orange zest nice light smelling brew.
T: Tons of citrus, Lemon and Orange with a nice yeasty quality.
M: Light bodied brew
D: Nice and light, great gateway beer for those who don't know any better.
Overall: I have had this brew more times than I can count, and often lean on it as an introduction to those who have yet to convert to craft brews. It is what it is, and that is a nice easy drinking brew that tastes pretty good.

From a 330 ml bottle (best by December 2013) into a hefe glass.
A-A slightly tentative pour produced about two fingers of dense, white foam. The head dropped slowly into a thick cap that never went away thanks to the steady stream of carbonation. The brew had more clarity than most hefes and presented a orange-tinted, light amber color.
S-The smell is pretty true to style with light lemon, cereal grain, a touch of straw, and very little hop bitterness. It is a touch astringent.
T-The taste is also pretty true to style, if slightly underwhelming. There is lemon, orange rind, a hint of bitterness in the mid-palate, and a slightly grassy-tasting wheat/cereal maltiness. The brew opens a little as it warms to near room temperature and loses its coarseness.
M-The carbonation is pretty soft, but ample, and the finish is mildly crisp. The body is medium for the style. Nice and drinkable, but not a chugging beer.
O-I am a bit underwhelmed by this hefe. The smell and taste are touch on the coarse side for me. I could have used more banana and spice to go along with the pleasant lemon/citrus flavors. Oh well, they can't all be winners and I'm always game to try again as hefe season (summer) opens up.

Poured into a weizen glass. A large head on top that recedes slowly, leaving some lacing behind. The color is a typical opaque yellow-orange with some traces of yeast floating around after pouring. The beer has a sweet smell to it, primarily of bananas, cloves and sugar. The taste is very complex, with the yeasty overtones dominating, along with a some maltiness. There is almost a creaminess to the mouthfeel with some carbonation too. Paulaner Hefe-Weizen is among the best of the type that Germany has to offer.

This beer is pretty good for a Hefeweizen, but not great. It is extremely carbonated, which I found to take away a bit from the rest of the sensations. Its taste is rather simple, mainly sour with a hint of sweetness leading into a slight bitterness on the end. It's a refreshing choice to pair with a meal, but a little unsatisfying if you are in the mood to really focus on your beverage.

Moutful- Light and refreshing but with no watery.I will buy somr more

I poured this beer into a standard pint glass at about 45 degrees F and it is a lovely tone of cloudy gold with an awesome one to two fingered head of tiny bubbles that stays as a full creamy cap the entire drink and leaves a beautiful dragon scale pattern of lacing on the glass!
The aroma is definitely of the yeasty phenols like banana, apples, bread and very light bubble gum on top of some sweet light maltiness. Enamoring!
The flavour is sweet yet dry at the same time and is a perfect balance throughout the sip, the carbonation tantalizes the tip of the tongue with banana and citrus and as the beer moves across the tongue some tartness on the sides in the form of very mild grapefruit become apparent and ends with a nice bubble gum taste on the tongue to be finished with a mildly dry black peppery hop finish. Very mild hops and floral ones at that. The alcohol is a little noticeable in the taste, but not much, but it's warming in the stomach for sure. Excellent!
The mouthfeel is a little bit dryer than sweet with a medium body with a peppery finish. The carbonation is moderate to lively and really works in bringing out all the fruity flavours.
This is a very enjoyable beer and I would think that is is world class even though it's not listed as so on Beer Advocate. It meets all the criteria for the class and I really can't see anything deserving of criticism other than I can taste a bit of the alcohol and maybe a little of a tin type of taste to it, which I attribute to the yeast anyway. It may be a little thin on the body side, but I'm not familiar with that too much. I'm going to give it a 4.5 out of 5 overall.

A - extremely cloudy, 1 1/2 finger of head, lots of rushing carb
S - banana, fresh yeast
T - refreshing lemon, very clean, smooth, somewhat flat taste in the middle, not alot going on, banana at the end
M - thin, goes down too easy like water, plenty of carbonation which is appropriate for the style,
Overall, a little disappointed. Not bad, would be better in the middle of summer, but I'm going to search for better Weizens

a: This was a murky, wheaty brown. It was served to me with medium sized creamy head.
s: All the usual suspects, bananas, cloves, and some bubblegum. With more subdued than usual level of sweetness. I also found some dusty citrus.
t: Not quite as sweet as other examples of the style. Plenty to like though, lots of wheaty bananas, surprisingly strong citrus, and hints of clove.
m: Big and chewy with creamy carbonation.
o: Not quite top tier, but I would order one again.

Food Pairing: (1)Tuna steamed with some vegetables. Good compliment to the beer, but the food was missing a starch component which I think would have put the pairing over the top. (2)Bananas sauteed with some brown sugar, ginger and cinnamon. The citrus bitterness contradicted the sweetness of the bananas, just enough to dominate and not wholly compliment the food's flavor.
A - Cloudy golden / light yellow-orange, very nice. Abundant pillowy head which settled to nothing and left little to no lacing. Disappointing.
S - Vanilla wafers, sugar cookies, apples. Interesting. Almost like a white wine.
T - Faint vanilla and orange. Lime zest, lemon, banana. Star fruit quite prominent. Yeast flavor very present- overstated. Not nearly as sweet as I expected from the aroma.
M- Light, but bitter. Somewhat sour. Citrusy hops linger well after the swallow, with yeastyness clinging throughout the mouth if care isn't taken to enjoy at a leisurely pace.
O- Given this beer's glowing reputation here and elsewhere, I can't help but wonder if I received a mishandled bottle. The main issue involves my limited experience with this style, which prevents me from properly appreciating or assessing it. Worth another look down the road.

A- Hazy, opaque shade of gold, minimal head and fair amount of lacing.
S- Mmm, typical crisp hefeweizen smell. Like fresh fruit.
T- Fairly average hefeweizen taste with clove, but heavier on the banana. Has a wheat aftertaste. Very good.
M- Light and refreshing but not watery. I'll be buying more of this in the summer, for sure.
Overall, I see that it's getting compared to Weihenstephaner. I like them both a lot and can't really say which is better without the other in front of me at the moment, but they're both great and certainly on par with each other. Perhaps a blind taste test is in order for the future!

one of the classic wheat beers of the world this one is. it pours a nice bright almost orange shade of gold, cloudy, with a two inch white head that slowly fades. the nose is clove and banana in subtle amounts, malted wheat, and that characteristic hefe yeast. there is a lot of flavor in this, fruity and bready and summery, and lots of body for the style, which I like a lot. still plenty drinkable though, and a 6 pack seems to be about the right dose of this stuff. bubbly with some spice on the finish, very satisfying, and supremely refreshing when its cold. priced fairly and available everywhere, this is a quality product. one of my favorite regular imports.

Served from tap into Hefe glass. Poured hazy yellow-orange with a two finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, wheat, spice, banana, and clove. The flavor was of sweet malt, wheat, clove, spice, and subtle banana. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. This one was really quite refreshing for the weather we are currently having here in the southeast. The banana aspect here really made it fairly enjoyable along with the overall mouthfeel. A really well done representation of the style.

A - Pours a hazy amber with a three finger white head. Very good retention and lacing.
S - Clove, banana, grainy malt.
T - Zesty citrus, banana, spicy, must, biscuit, lemon, floral notes.
M - Zesty, light citrus zing on the tongue, slight oily finish.
O - Exemplary of the style. One of the best hefeweizens available. I like this slightly better than Weihenstephaner.

This has a murky caramel color -- a classic characteristic of hefeweizen. Awesome smell with a slight bitterness and a hint of banana goodness. Full bodied and flavor. The bitterness present in smell is not present in the taste. Not carbonated water like some other brews. Really easy to drink, a definitely hefeweizen for the summer. Finishes more pronounced than it starts.

Delicious! Tons of fresh bananas and filtered wheat, along with a nice light hit of lemon/orange citrus to finish it off. I like the yeast profile, and find it to really balance out the sweetness in a good way. I could drink several of these on a hot summer day, and did!

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Nov 2012. Picked up from a supermarket a while back and stored in my garage.
Poured into a tulip pint glass (with swirling). A very hazy, translucent orange-amber hue with medium carbonation. Yields a huge head of creamy white foam with good retention; this hangs around before slowly reducing to a surface layer. Aroma of fruity yeast esters with notes of banana, clove, bubblegum, spice, earthy yeast and faint stewed leaves. Classic hefe, with just a hint of warming alcohol in the background.
Tastes of fruity yeast esters with a dry finish. Notes of banana, clove, bubblegum, a hint of coriander, spice/herbs, earthy yeast, subtle biscuity malt and stewed leaves. Slightly sweet with a dry character and a very mild bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, with a creamy, full-bodied texture. Lightly astringent, with an aftertaste of banana and fruity, earthy yeast.
Nice; a quality hefeweizen. Plenty of banana and yeasty notes as one might expect, all perfectly blended to produce a typical aroma and flavour. Great body with a pleasing mouthfeel. One of the great hefes - well worth your time. Add to your must-try list.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with high carbonation.
Overall - This is the best hefeweizen I've had in a long time..

Made lots of head and presented a Hazy orange color.
Smell of banana, cloves and a hint o cinnamon.
In the flavor mostly banana and citric fruits. Not overly sweet, which is a common flaw of some wheat beers.
Mildly dry and bitter in the aftertaste. Well balanced beer, hard to beat tradition.

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a very lightly hazed orange amber color with a thick and billowy white head. The head has fantastic retention fading to leave a decent amount of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heavy of a yeasty and wheaty aroma. It is mixed with a decent black pepper and banana smell. Quite a classic Hefe aroma and quite nice.
Taste – The taste begins with flavors of wheat bread and a biscuit maltiness meeting the tongue. A light orange flavor is upfront which seems to grow stronger as the taste advances. While the orange grows stronger, other flavors of a yeasty nature come to the tongue. The biscuit begins to fade with the wheaty tastes and the orange citrus grows even stronger. In the end a light yeast and nice citrus wheat flavor are left on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is quite creamy for an only 5.5 abv brew. It has a moderate to average level of carbonation. The beer sooths the tastebuds as it passes through the mouth. It is great for the tastes of the beer and quite drinkable.
Overall – A nice easy drinking Hefe with a fantastic transitions and tastes in the flavor. A very nice drinking brew.

Had it on tap at BREW Beers & Ciders, Bangkok, served in a Paulaner glass.
The showcase reflects by a hazy yellow amber hue with thick frothy white head that leaves some lace upon dissipating. The aroma is quite inviting by a note of banana ester and lemon zest while clove lends a hand of spice. The palate contacts with a smooth, fresh yet refreshing mouthfeel while the taste is straightforward to the style with a hearty wheat, bready malt and clovey/yeasty ester that reminds me of what good wheat beer should have been.

When poured, the color was a hazy light yellow with a fair amount of foam and a good amount of lace on the side of the glass.
The aroma had a fresh hint of a yeasty, spice (cloves) bread smell.
The taste was a well balance of flavor. There was a taste of yeast, spices, that was nicely balance of sweetness/bitterness that brought out a nice balanced flavor.
The more I drink this Hefe-Weissbier, the more I enjoy it! One my favor German Beers.

A: Pours an opaque Goldenrod color with about 2 fingers of foamy off white head that quickly disappears. Couldn't really see much combination.
S:Floral with a bit of bubblegum and clove.
T: Mostly wheat, which was strange, because the bubblegum in the nose didn't really come through t all. No hoppiness in it which isn't surprising. Just a really rich bready wheat. pretty good.
M:A little thinner than it looks, but not bad at all. Very thirst quenching.
O: Not my favorite in this style, but very solid. I would definitely buy this again in the summertime.
