This beer is pretty good for a Hefeweizen, but not great. It is extremely carbonated, which I found to take away a bit from the rest of the sensations. Its taste is rather simple, mainly sour with a hint of sweetness leading into a slight bitterness on the end. It's a refreshing choice to pair with a meal, but a little unsatisfying if you are in the mood to really focus on your beverage.

a: This was a murky, wheaty brown. It was served to me with medium sized creamy head.
s: All the usual suspects, bananas, cloves, and some bubblegum. With more subdued than usual level of sweetness. I also found some dusty citrus.
t: Not quite as sweet as other examples of the style. Plenty to like though, lots of wheaty bananas, surprisingly strong citrus, and hints of clove.
m: Big and chewy with creamy carbonation.
o: Not quite top tier, but I would order one again.

Served from tap into Hefe glass. Poured hazy yellow-orange with a two finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, wheat, spice, banana, and clove. The flavor was of sweet malt, wheat, clove, spice, and subtle banana. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. This one was really quite refreshing for the weather we are currently having here in the southeast. The banana aspect here really made it fairly enjoyable along with the overall mouthfeel. A really well done representation of the style.

Had it on tap at BREW Beers & Ciders, Bangkok, served in a Paulaner glass.
The showcase reflects by a hazy yellow amber hue with thick frothy white head that leaves some lace upon dissipating. The aroma is quite inviting by a note of banana ester and lemon zest while clove lends a hand of spice. The palate contacts with a smooth, fresh yet refreshing mouthfeel while the taste is straightforward to the style with a hearty wheat, bready malt and clovey/yeasty ester that reminds me of what good wheat beer should have been.

When poured, the color was a hazy light yellow with a fair amount of foam and a good amount of lace on the side of the glass.
The aroma had a fresh hint of a yeasty, spice (cloves) bread smell.
The taste was a well balance of flavor. There was a taste of yeast, spices, that was nicely balance of sweetness/bitterness that brought out a nice balanced flavor.
The more I drink this Hefe-Weissbier, the more I enjoy it! One my favor German Beers.

I tried this on tap at Old Chicago in Madison, WI in summer 2012.
Pours a cloudy copper orange color with a slight off-white head served with lemon. Scent is mild with wheat and citrus. Taste is sweet, full of wheat, and hints of citrus. Finishes very smooth and delicious. A good overall beer especially in the hefe-weizen style.

Golden blond with a lasting creamy head. This beer, to me, both smells and tastes of banana. The wheat really comes through in this tasty beer. On the back tongue, this beer also has a slightly tart, almost lemon taste. Very light, this is a great summer beer, much more satisfying than most of the popular shandys out there now.

Poured into a plastic cup at Jacktoberfest
Appearance: cloudy orange with a frothy 2 finger head that sticks around for sampling some brats
Smell: I'm picking up cherries in my cup; wheat with cherries and other citrus delights
Taste: what a fine mix of wheat with a lingering cherry finish. Didn't expect that. This is so smooth. Clean, crisp. More, please.
Mouthfeel: medium with lots of carbonation
Overall: This one surprised me, in a good way. I was expecting to get a blast of wheat, and that came through nicely, but the cherry taste gave it a "wow". The lady I poured one for at the beer garden had the same reaction. (she smiled and said, "Good pour!") Prosit! Very sessionable.

Served on draught into a 33cl Paulaner glass in France. Price was 3.50 euro.
A: Pours a two finger head of soft delicate cream, good thickness, and great retention. Colour is a hazy orange.
Sm: Orange and lemon peel. A mild strength aroma.
T: Orange and lemon peel ester hops with a curtailing nasty finish. Muted and bland for the style. Simple and poorly built, but balanced.
Mf: Smooth and wet. Far too wet. Not really complementary of the flavours.
Dr: Easy to drink, but lacking flavour. A high price by French standards.

Discovered this beer on a trip to Europe, and became obsessed with hefeweizens for a long time after. A somewhat dark, wheat beer with a good kind of bitterness, Paulaner is a great beer that you can just sip nicely on a hot day or pound one after another on a rough day. Can't go wrong.

The beer is foggy orange, has a firm white head that leaves some lacing.
The smell is fruity, bananas and spicy, cardamom.
The taste is sweet. white bread with orange marmalade, some christmassy sppices, a note of green bitter banana peel.
High carbonation, small fizzy bubbles, soft texture and a medium body, a light dry finish.
Really refreshing in the afternoon heat in Frankfurt.

Appearance: Cloudy, but who cares? its's an unfiltered hefe, it's supposed to be cloudy.
Smell: smells like floural wheat, smooth
Taste: now what really matters. Medium bodied, smooth. Its the epitome of a hefeweizen. I found myself drinking a bunch of these on the beach during a hot day.
Mouthfeel: smooth, medium bodied.
Overall: I give this a 666, for pure evil goodness.

Golden amber colour, fluffy white head that dissipates to a half-centimetre thick cap & leaves some good lacing.
Clove and spices with the main aroma coming from the banana. The smell of wheat & yeast is also apparent
Banana, clove and spices dominating along with orange zest and mild citrus flavours.
Good carbonation and pretty smooth and refreshing. There is a slight tang on the tongue when drank but it's great.
A very well made hefeweizen that looks really good and is a joy to drink overall.

A- Cloudy golden. thick white head, lots of lacing.
S- Smell is a bit of banana, but leans more toward spicy notes.
T- Very phenolic, more so than I ever remember it tasting out of the bottle. A bit of a plastic notes that weren't great. But the banana and spice notes where exactly where hefeweizens should be.
M- Crisp at first, but it's a bit slick as well. Full bodied compared to most hefe's.
O- Not as great as I remember but still the standard by which other hefes are measured for me.

Cloudy apricot with a well-bubbled, white head. Bubble gum, banana skins, clove and nutmeg, and apricot fill out the yeast profile. Warm bread with a substantial (for the style) hit of hop bitterness and grass. A bit of CO2 scrubs the tongue. A slightly unique hefeweizen. I'm guessing this is a different yeast strain than the famous Weihenstephan strain. $3 a pint special can't be beat.

Had this one with Paul Dana Bryce and friend. Great head, great flavor, much better than Hoegardden. Whereas Hoegardden leaves an "empty" or watery feeling when you're sipping on it, this Paulaner has a more "complete" taste. Great beer.

Minimal head. Thick opaque brown orange body. Smells like bananas. Slightly sweet, no bitter taste. One of the better Hefeweizens out there. Tastes slightly fruity and nutty with orange and banana. Great mouthfeel. Would go out of my way to get some more, in fact, I plan on it.

A pint on-tap at Mellow Mushroom.
A: It pours a hazy golden-orange color with a beautiful finger and a half of powder-white head that has great retention and leaves thick walls of lace.
S: Lemon, pepper, some herbal notes, banana, and grass.
T: Lemon juice is the main attraction with mild banana, clove, yeasty spice, and honey graham cracker.
M: This has a medium-light body with some prickly carbonation and a crisp and pleasant finish.
D: This is wonderful drinking from start to finish and reminds me of warmer days.

Served on tap in a pint glass (Old Chicago)
Body is cloudy light orange-yellow. Served with a tiny ring of head (I assume it would be much better if poured by someone who meant it to look good). No lacing noted.
Nose is primarily yeasty malty wheat, with some slight clove and prominent banana undertones. The banana smell is not sweet as actual bananas are, but still retains the essence. Smells authentic for a hefe.
Wheat malt hits the tongue with a little twang, and is backed up by more banana, and some minimal clove and coriander notes. The flavors are good.
Body is lighter and the carbonation is very compact, lending a very smooth and light feel to the beer. Drinkability is good but the competition is very good, so this isn't too much better than average.
Conclusion: This is a solid example of a well represented classic style. By that I mean that there are many good versions of this style out there, so the competition is steep, and though this beer holds up well, it does not shine. There is a character to the leaders in this style... a shimmering and sparkle in their flavors that this beer lacks. It is good, but doesn't lift the soul and enable the palate to take flight like the best hefeweizens do.

Pours a murky pale orange colour with small white head that dissipates quickly and virtually no lacing. Not the best looking hefe I've ever seen. Smell is of clove, orange and banana with the wheat malt. Flavour was a little bit sweet, but quite nice. Had some bread like flavours too. Carbonation was a bit lacking, but overall a nice beer.

Had this at the Executive Surf Club in CC TX
On Tap - it was served in a regular pint glass
It poured a cloudy opaque orange straw color. Good head retention that settled to a strong lacing.
The aroma was floral - wheat and orange peel.
It had an orange flavor undertone. The wheat aspect was very subdued. One BA member stated it was a "nice guy beer," and I would agree. Very smooth flavors with a mellow texture on the palate.
This beer went great with 90° humid night air of Corpus Christi TX. This had a "let's just kick back and drink some beer" quality. A reliable hefeweizen.
