Frequently have come here throughout the years, but have never written up a review. It's a hard-to-find, tiny bar near the airport in Warwick, but they have consistently boasted some of the best taps in Rhode Island. They get lots of rotating seasonals and odd beers, which makes them different from the easy to find bars that stock the common ones. The scene might not be right for someone looking for a refined bar experience, but if you like beer and good company, the Track is an excellent bar. The staff has always been willing to provide samples if you're deciding between two brews, and popcorn is free. For the selection, service, and bargains, this bar is a must for beer drinkers in RI.

My first time here last night, my friends from Providence love the place. And with good reason - it's a real find. Dive bar look from the outside, but inside just a real friendly neighborhood bar and bartenders. With 20 taps of world-class beer. My mates & I tried the Stone Master of Disguise, Dogfish Head Raisin d'Extra (18%!) and I finally settled in to some Founders and Heavy Seas IPA, a bit more reasonable on the alcohol. There's popcorn and they whipped us up some tasty grilled cheese sandwiches that hit the spot.

If I lived down here this would become one of my usual haunts, but I'll have to settle for the occasional visit. I nicked .25 off quality just because I would have liked a couple more lower alcohol beer choices. No biggy.

This bar is a hole in the wall, but not to hard to find. It is almost at the end of a dead end street in a mixed use area with industrial buildings and houses/duplexes.

Track 84 does not serve food, but I saw several people order pizza delivery so that is always an option. The beer selection is the best I have found in Warwick. They had an amazing selections of Belgians in bottle and one on tap. They also have plenty of choice of craft beer from all around the country. The bartender says they rotate brews so what they have changes over time.

For entertainment they have a couple of dart boards and a juke box. The night I was there it looked like a dart league was doing their thing.

This a definite must visit place if you're in Warwick and want a great selection of brews in an active bar. I will be going back to this place for sure.

A bunch of us stopped in here after judging at the OSHC this past Saturday.
Small place on an odd dead end road a few blocks up from a commercial strip up against the railroad tracks. If I hadn't looked it up on a map there was no way I would have just happened by this bar. Small eclectic long room with a smattering of tables, high tops and seating at the bar. I enjoyed some popcorn and and heard rumors of hot dogs, but I think that is the extent of the food "menu." It was a late Saturday afternoon when we got there and the place was not very crowded, but there seemed to be only one person working, so service at the bar seemed slow, or maybe I was just really thirsty. 20 taps and a cask with a well thought out selection IMHO. Proper glassware. but a bit pricey. We had a great time, I would go back in a heartbeat if I was in the area again!

Dave runs a great "whole in the wall" pub right next to the main rail line between NYC and Boston--thus the name. Although his taste tends towards darker and Belgian varieties--much to my and my wife's pleasure--the selection is always top notch and we always find several beers we've either been waiting to try or those we had never heard of. The sandwiches behind the bar are good and the sandwich shop next door, run by Dave's mother, delivers. You never feel guilty asking for a taste and you never leave disappointed. Mixed clientele makes the bar stools an interesting place to sit, listen, and yack. Hard to find but well worth the hunt!

Alot of beer , 1 cask at times. Always have fun people are beer people there and the bartenders are cool. It's a medium sized place , like its big enough except on weekends.

Started coming to Track 84 about 1 year ago, and as long as I live here, I don't plan on stopping. They always have a great selection of great beer to try, split nicely between domestic and foreign. The staff there are extremely friendly and helpful, a sample to make sure you want a full glass is always offered, as is free popcorn! There are some other things on the back of the menu as well, some sandwiches and hotdogs. A night at Track 84 is never a bad time, and it it always so relaxing there, never too loud like some other places can get. I highly suggest giving it a try, it may not look like much from the outside, but it is 100% worth it.

As someone who's gotten into craft beer at a hardcore level over the past few years, this is the place to be. They have about 20 craft beers on tap - reasonably priced -including high quality imports such as Delirium. Many of the beers are not easy to find at the liquor store, so I always find something I haven't tried before.

This place looks like a dive but doesn't behave like one. The bartenders are knowledgeable, attentive, and always serve the beer in the appropriate glass. The "regulars" there generally keep to themselves but are friendly. There is no food, however there's a sandwich shop next door and as far as I know, they are open to bringing in outside food in general.

I gotta say if I lived or worked a little closer, I could see myself there 3-4 nights a week . As it stands, it's a special treat every month or so.

The way a bar should be. Not sure what more needs to be said. As a craft-beer newbie, I was intimidated to go here initially due to glowing descriptions on BA, and now I regret not coming here sooner. Regardless of who is tending the taps, they offer to have you taste the beer before you order a glass. As for glassware, you don't need to ask for "a pint," because you will get the proper glassware for the pour, regardless of the quantity. The brews on tap are well-described and varied. I've been lucky enough to be there when the extremely knowledgeable Dave or Donna was the tender, and service has been outstanding. They are equally welcoming whether you are someone there on your first visit, or one of the many regulars. When I ordered one of their brews on tap, Donna actually talked me out of it, and gave me a taste to affirm her recommendation. The clientele is eclectic, and conversations rise easily. My job causes me to travel constantly, and I seek out brew pubs wherever I go. This easily is The Best. My most recent visit was May 16, 2012. At the risk of repeating myself: the way a bar should be.

Thought I would check this place out after reading several BA reviews. I went here in broad daylight, and I was still a bit sketched-out by the location, but whatever. Dark but chill atmosphere inside with friendly locals and a great bartender. Free popcorn too - score! The draft selection was higher-end, but a bit random. I had a Clown Shoes Supa Hero and a nice '09 Victory Old Horizontal barleywine. Prices were decent, but note that this place is cash only. Definitely worth checking out if you've got time to kill around a flight out of T.F. Green.

Excellent place. Stopped here upon arriving in RI via plane per the recommendation of multiple BA's. Good (but not huge) tap selection that seems to rotate quite a bit, good bottle selection, delicious popcorn. Didn't order any food. Knowledgeable bartender who has tried a lot of beer from around the world. We had the place pretty much to ourselves, which we enjoyed. Small place that's kind of hard to find but worth the effort. Will definitely come back next time I'm in the area. FYI not open on Sundays!!!

Track 84 is one of the best beer bars in RI. Don't let the outside apprearance of the bar fool you. The selection of beers is extensive. If you are not sure what to drink- John, the bartender there will surely pick one for you based on your preferences. He is very knowledgeable on the beers they serve. The bar offers both tap and bottle selections that are reasonably price. I believe the food menu is limited. There is no kitchen there. This place is definitely worth the stop for a beer lover. We will be going back.

Transcribed from notes dtd Sa, 15 Jan 2011.

Located hard by the railroad tracks at the end of a dead end street, my buddy was telling me that this would be the perfect stop for a traveling beer afficianado since it it quite near the airport and just off of I-95.

An enclosed porch was out front and led to the front door. Entering, the long, straight blonde wood bar was to the immediate left. The back bar was initially wood and mirrors, followed by the lone cooler, then a mini kitchen area. A short bar with stools ran down the first half on the centerline. To the right of the entry were a small both fronted by a table and chairs followed by a couple more tables and chairs, an ATM, a satellite jukebox, a “Classic Arcade” video game and a few more tables. Beyond all of that was the game area with two English-style dart boards followed by the lavs, Women’s on the left, Men’s on the right.

Service: OK, I’m [in]famous. I buy that. But when I walk in and the bartender has a picture of the two of us his I-phone … !??! Outta control! What next?

Beer: Eighteen (18) rotating taps plus a Delirium Tremens tower complete with a ceramic pink elephant. A two-door cooler of eclectic bottles divided the back bar area. These were not your everyday beers, either, with lots of Belgian, English and American beers in evidence and they were also rotating. Finally, “Sample Four Draft Beers – 4 oz. each” – price depending on selection.

I love this place! Down a small dead end road by the tracks. Nice hole in the wallish feel to the place.A couple of tv's to catch some local sports on. Somewhat on the small side, but, big on selection. Awesome draft list that rotates quite often. Tons of Belgians, and even a cask offering(the last I had was Mayflower Pale Ale with Citra hops). Bottle selection is also great, though I don't usually pay it much attention. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Great service, selection and prices. A must visit if in the area!

Track 84 is the perfect dive, tucked away down a side street you would never think to venture down. There is nothing like walking into a small bar, floor covered in peanut shells, and being able to order from a selection of some of the greatest craft and imported beers available.
The draft lines seems to rotate pretty quickly so you can never be sure what to expect. Except for what seems to be the house standard- Delerium Tremens!
The bartenders know the beers they are pouring and seem more than happy to chat about them.
The prices always seem very fair, you can usually get a glass from the draft for prices similar to singles at retail shops.

Definitely a hole in the wall, but not a bad thing. A long bar and a few scattered tables, this place probably sits 25. Wood floors, reminds me a bit of drinking in someone's basement. Dart boards are a plus.

Best tap selection in RI. Always plenty of Belgians, Barleywines, occasional sour and the best local specialty and rare brews not available anywhere else in the state on tap. Of course, along with them more popular, but amazing, craft brews from around America. Recently added a few taps and a cask. I think they have 24 rotating taps now.

The service is awesome, glassware is top notch and the prices are cheap. No food, but they'll order sandwiches for you or pop some complimentary popcorn.

Only in Rhode Island would the best beer bar in the state be a small unassuming place at the end of a dead end road next to the train tracks across from the airport. Most of the people I know who live and work in the area have never even heard of Track 84, but for those beer lovers who discover it they'll find the closest thing to beer Xanadu this side of the Massachusetts state line.

Track 84 is one of those places that seem to have become a craft beer bar less out of business planning and more because the owner loves craft beer. On any given night about half of the patrons are Budweiser-drinking regulars and the other half are beer enthusiasts. It's an interesting mix I have not quite seen anywhere else. It is a tribute to Dave the owner and his staff that both are made to feel equally welcomed. This place is not fancy. There are about a dozen seats at the bar and about another dozen places to sit. The back side of the bar features a couple of dart boards. There is a video shuffleboard game and a jukebox. Peanut shells recently covered the floor but they have been replaced by freshly made popcorn.

The beer is as good as any found around the state. There are 22 rotating draft lines. That might be a third of the number of draft lines of some of the more famous beer bars in Rhode Island but its all quality. There's no Magic Hat or Sam Adams wasting space here. There is at least a half dozen Belgian beers on draft and not just the usual suspects. Other fine European drafts find their way into the mix as well. The Samiclaus on draft in December was absolutely fabulous. Dave does a good job of mixing up the American craft ales as well. He is not afraid to feature the big beers. There is always at least one imperial IPA on draft as well as Russian imperial stouts, barley/wheat wines, Belgian triples and quads, and some of the limited release options from breweries like Dogfish Head and Southern Tier. Everything is responsibly poured in appropriately sized glasses. The bar has both a no shots and no pitchers policy to limit over-consumption. A list of the beers on tap is updated daily and contains basic information on each beer. At any point there are about 40 bottled beers available. Bottled beers are almost exclusively European offerings or limited release American beers. There is no beer list but the bottles are clearly visible behind the bar. Then there are the traditional domestic offerings like Bud, Coors and Miller.

Service is usually good but a little inconsistent. Dave will take excellent care of you and there is a guy named Steve that is as knowledgeable about beer as any bartender I've met. There is also a woman who works Friday night who is all business. The rest of the staff is all very friendly but sometimes more focused on conversations with their friends at the bar than empty glasses. I don't see a lot of Cosmos and French Martinis getting poured at this place so buyer beware if you have a fancy drink order.

The prices are very reasonable for the quality of beer being offered, especially when it comes to the bottles. Compare the prices to any bar in the Providence area and Track 84 is almost always a better value. There are not a lot of food options but the sandwiches are good and reasonably priced.

I've been going to Track 84 for about 3 years now and there is almost always something on draft I have never had before. What I like most is it completely lacks the pretentiousness I find in a lot of high-end beer bars.If you are looking to be seen or hook up I would not recommend Track 84; but if you are looking for a place where a beer lover can just enjoy good beer,it doesn't get better than this. At least not in Rhode Island.

Track 84 is a pleasant hole in the wall pub that stands out among the competition. I was just there a few days ago for a annual gathering they put on and it was great. They had a great selection of tap beers including Dogfish Head World Wide Stout. That was amazing on draft. They had some other excellent brews such as a hopped wheat beer from Laguinitas. The establishment is a little cramped at some points though. A lot of people showed up at the swap and it was like sardines in a can. Overall it was fun. We bought two drafts and ended up trying out a few bottles getting passed around. I'd highly recommend checking this diamond in the rough out if you're in the area. One thing to keep in mind they are a cash only establishment. Leave the plastic behind or you won't be able to buy anything.

What can I say? This is my favorite beer bar in RI.

It's down a one-way street by the airport. The draft and bottle list is impressive to say the least- usually stuff like lambic/gueuze/rauchbier on tap, along with a bunch of IPA/DIPA/seasonal beers and occasional barrel-aged goodness.

You can get a taster rack of anything on tap, too.

On occasion an aged keg will go on- I had some 2008 smuttnose short batch in early 2010.

They do prep sandwiches and have limited food, although I always grab something to eat before I go.

Prices are very very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the tap selection.

If you're in the area, you'll find something you like on tap. A hidden gem tucked away in some urban sprawl.. you'll be glad you made the trip.

Stopped by last Friday after hearing many good things. The outside of the bar, like others have said gives you no idea about the goodies that lie within. Inside there are dart boards and other games, a long bar with a separate parallel set of stools behind it with their own long table. The atmosphere when I went was almost exclusively locals and felt semi-divey. The selection was very very good with several things I have not seen on tap locally before. I have a Nebraska Hop God, but a lot of style were represented. The prices were very reasonable. The Hop God was only $5. Service was both friendly and knowledgable. If I am in the area, my first stop is Julian's but this is a close second. I love the homey/local atmosphere and that alone is worth a stop.

I love this place! Unfortunately and probably fortunately ;) I do not live close. Its near the airport I use when I have to travel for work so I get to hit it from time to time. It's sort of the best of both worlds, a local spot almost a dive, with serious respect for great beer. There are around 20 taps and two uprights with a good variety in bottles. So far the drafts have always tasted fresh and I haven't had an indication of dirty taps. Beer is always served in appropriate glassware.

The food is simple and good, Pulled pork sandwiches and red beans and rice. That's it!

Today I had a Berkshire Stuck Mash Wheat Ale and a Gouden Carolus Ambrio. Both were very nice. At 6pm on a Friday the crowd was friendly and enjoying great beer, darts, horse collar and conversation. I had to get out before I became too at home. I will be back!

The Track was the catalyst for me into beer-geekdom. I love this place. The bartenders are great. The owner Dave is a great guy. All beers are served at a great temp in proper glassware. The sandwiches are delectable. Tap prices are great, I always think I've just spent a mint on beer and food but then get the check and remember how nicely priced they are. I just love to sit there eating peanuts, throwing the shells on the floor. Laughing with other, sometimes crazy, patrons. Listening to music and playin a game or two of keno with my brother. A must when in the Warwick area, or any area for that matter. Worth a drive!
