Bomber poured into a pint glass
A-- Poured a clear yellow color. Pour resulted in a 2 finger white head. Kept its shape quite well for a good period of time before slowly receding to one finger. Little strips of lacing with this. More visible carbonation than I expected.
S-- Citrus. Lots of citrus. No Carmel smell at all. Just Lemon peel, Orange and grapefruit. Fresh fruit citrus salad
T-- Pungent Grapefruit and orange with some lemon.
M-- Big aggressive grapefruit and orange. Very fresh taste. Long lasting grapefruit feel. Little bit of lemon and lime kick in the end. Also mixed with orange and grapefruit. Lots of acid to this. Starts off medium and finishes heavy. Perfect carbonation for the style.
D-- 9% ABV?? Really. Extremely well hidden beer. Like how this starts off soft and light and then grabbed me and hit me with grapefruit and orange. Builds up very well. Makes me miss home and this would be my go to DIPA back in Denver.

Yellow straw color maybe golden and cloudy like hell.
Big citrus aromas with alcohol and phenolic hooliganism.
Lots of lemony and lemongrass hoppiness up front with other citrus/ herbal notes arguing in the background. After a while the alcohol comes up front and refuses to back down.
full bodied and hoppy-alcoholic on the finish make this abrasive as it warms up. I shy away from stuff at 9% and over for this reason.

Bomber pour served in a Bruery tulip - thanks again for sharing, chicano4craft!
A - Hazy, light amber in color; no head, but decent lacing
S - Honey and floral hops
T - Loads of caramel right away and quickly joined by citrus and floral hops --> more caramel along with some honey in the middle, as is a hint of oak --> finish is malty sweet yet bitter; nice DIPA balance
M - Medium-bodied; a bit syrupy as it warms
D - Decent drinkability for the style; sweetness knocks it down a bit

Well, this was good because I went back for another bottle. Its orange and hazy with some sticky laces. The smell is all hops, pungent like green bushes, strong! The flavor is nice and hoppy with a lot of citrus and I would almost dare to compare it to elder but I swear the colombus interfere. Does Pliny have Colombus?

On tap at Falling Rock. Nice light orange and gold color, good 1" of head on it which didn't offer much in terms of retention, but did have above average lace impressions on the side of the glass I wasn't drinking out of.
Aroma was hoppy, not decadently hopped, but not short changing anyone either. Good muddled citrus notes, couldn't tell you what was really hitting me, just a swirling of hops in the citrus vein.
Taste, pretty easy drinking, hop flavors beyond mere bitterness. Alcohol is there, but not a problem drinking it. Would say the citrus flavors are starting to lean tropical at this point. Malt mouthfeel gives an old toffee impression that was a distraction from the hops. Orange, mango and toffeee are a little weird, I would think caramel instead, but oh well.
Pretty good stuff, solid second tier dipa.

On-tap, 22 oz. pour
A: Opaque, copper body. Thin soapy head with excellent lacing.
S: Hops with some lemon/orange. Malt pokes in a little. Not a huge presence of alcohol.
T: Nicely balanced. Hop bite up front that's loaded with citrus. Reminds me a little of DC Brau's OTWOA, which is a good thing. Not sure if the hop profile is similar to Falconer's Flight, or what. On the back end, there's great malt flavors. Like just taking a bite of fresh bread.
M: Creamy, medium-bodied. For a 9% beer, it's very easy to drink.
O: Definitely will seek this one out again.

On tap at falling rock denver. Pours a crisp golden with slight haze no big head. Smells of mango...big mango, probably the most mango I ever tasted in a brew. Taste is of very fruity hops with some real crisp malts; maybe a bit over malted??
Its a great brew, not the best, but very good.

a great double ipa, especially at 6 bucks per pint, yes i said pint. has a very light and unassuming golden color almost perfectly clear. one inch white head doesnt last forever. smells also quite light, fruity citrusy hop profile, and a pleasantly complementary gently spicy yeast. flavor is big compared to the appearance and the nose. hops are bitter yet fruity in the beginning. it relaxes to a well balanced and drinkable west coasty ipa, before reassuming its bitter face and lasting on the tongue for ages. resiny but not sticky or sweet, just fresh. carbonation is great, very bubbly but not like a soda. lighter than medium body makes it dangerously drinkable. overall a really good double ipa as a more than fair price. lots of hype with this one, and im not sure its that that good, but i will drink thus again for certain.

On tap at Falling Rock In Denver. Clear copper with a pretty standard inch of foam that holds on the whole time. Classic DIPA flavor profile - herbal, dank, resinous, pine, and citrus rind. A nice subtle caramel and grain balances just enough. Right down the heart of the plate for the style.

on tap at falling rock in denver.
A: pours out a clear, orangish-copper with a white head.
S: nice citrusy aroma. some good floral and earthy hops. caramel and straw in there with some tropical fruits like melon and mango.
T: a touch of sweetness on the front. I get caramel malt and fruit that leads into citrusy and earthy hops with some bitterness. finishes dry and slightly bitter.
M: medium with a good amount of carb. smooth.
D: a good DIPA. a fairly balanced DIPA, but does lean towards the hop side.

Thanks to drumrboy22 for this growler!
A: Very hazed out pastel orange-yellow in color. Forms a nice 1/2" of stable, soapy white head, with excellent retention and lacing.
S: Hugely fragrant with notes of citrus, orange, grapefruit, all intermixed with a little pine.
T&M: Lightly sweet pale malt base with a very thick, sticky, and viscous mouthfeel. Citrus, orange, and pine. Strong bitterness on the finish. Medium in weight with appropriate carbonation, but the sticky mouthfeel is just too much.
O: A solid DIPA from a brewery I've never heard of. It really is a gift to find these under-appreciated beers from some of the smaller, lesser known breweries.

On tap at Falling Rock (now known as Dry Dock's Double IPA, according to their tap list)
Appearance: Arrives at the bar with a cloudy amber color and an inch of head that streaks lacing down the side of the pint glass
Smell: Sugar coated grapefruit with additional tropical fruit character
Taste: Opens with a biscuity malt flavor that is followed by a blast of sugar-coated grapefruit; by mid-palate, the tropical fruits add a new dimension that has a lot of pineapple to it; after the swallow, there is quite a bit of residual sugar in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A very nice DIPA but I recommend that this be consumed when fresh as when the hops fade, the beer becomes very sweet, as other reviewers have noted

Had their popular DIPA on tap at the brewpub. Somewhat hyped hop bomb. More malts are needed to balance this, its just OK. A bit of lighter mouthfeel for the style. Yellow and lacey. Great aroma and still good drinkability. Not a palate shredder, and some sugar sweetness, earthy hops.

a- hazy more yellow than orange color with a thin lace white head
s- the basics. fruity, hoppy, malty...keep it simple stupid
t- actually what comes through in the front is like a caramel, with the middle bringing the hops, and the finish sealing the hoppy deal...nice
m-very bubbly, and the 90 IBU's are definitely there, and wonderful
D-cant ever drink more than 1 double IPA in a session, but i would definitely consider it! i took a bomber to go, a very worthy investment

I love big IPAs...double, imperial...bring them on!! Here's the deal...this is a award winning brewery...small brewery of the year at GABF...I mean, come on, this could really be great, and it is!! But here's the bigger deal...before winning big at the GABF, we knew these folks from the homebrewing community, and they went big, and they produce some great brews, and this is one of them. And here's the bigger deal...growler refills used to be $25, but they've reduced them to $15 and they're now available in bottles.
Regardless of the price and availability, I'd say this is one fine double IPA. compared to Pliney, Green Flash or others, this holds it's own, but note, it's got components not found in the others, and it's missing the pine element some of us love in other big IPAs, like red grapefruit, but all in all, I could probably enjoy this brew at some point in time throughout the night, night after night...fruity, big fruity, big lingering hop aroma, lasting head, fuzzy color, bitter and slightly sweet notes, significant carbonation (in the growler) and lovely lingering after tastes that make you want to sip it again and again!!

Friend brought back a growler from their GABF trip.
A - Poured out a clear, orange color with golden highlights. It had a one-finger, white head of thick foam. Good retention and some sticky streaks of lace.
S - It smelled of pine, citrus, grapefruit and other tropical fruits. There was a mild burnt toast aroma, too.
T - Great bitter hop bite with delicious grapefruit and citrus flavors. It had a good burnt toast maltiness.
M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied beer with a dry finish.
D - This is a fabulous beer. I would love to get this again.

Poured from the tap a nice medium golden color, with a decent, cloudy white cap of foam. Good citrusy hop aromas right up front, grapefruit, maybe lemon. On the palate, I get a little bit of that citrusy hop character, along with some caramel, and a good bitter finish.

Note: This beer was labelled "Seven Seas" instead of Seven C's" and was only listed at 8.9% ABV. Still a double IPA... refinement of the recipe?
Pours a cloudy golden caramel color with a whitish head. Laces well.
Very citrusy hops with a bit of caramel malt.
Mostly citrusy and slightly piney hops greet the palate at first, but caramel and biscuity malts come shortly thereafter. The flavors almost combine to create a bit of a pineapple flavor, which only the second time I have ever experienced this in a beer. A bit of the alcohol finds its way to the tongue on the very finish.
Very creamy and well-carbonated.
I loved this one from first sip - and almost no hint of 9% ABV. It borders somewhere between DIPA and IPA, but it seems to have a good direction, and a fantastically well-balanced approach. Another great reason to visit Dry Dock.

Poured from growler into an Urthel chalice. Beer was a hazy, orange peach color, with a one-finger white head. Moderate carbonation and light lacing around the glass.
Aroma was big citrus hops.
Taste was citrus hops, some light pine and bread, but mainly bitter hops.
Easy drinking and surprisingly smooth for an IIPA. Does not drink like it's 10%+! A very well crafted, delicious beer.
