The Empire is a nice place to hang out on Cherry Street. It has several pool tables, a nice bar area, and a patio that is great during the summertime. However, its beer selection isn't very good. Last time I was there, the only craft offerings were Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Boulevard Wheat, and Sam Adams Boston Lager on tap. Compared to some of the bars in Tulsa, this is quite good, but I would not call this place a beer aficionado's bar.

That said, its still a fun place to hang out and play pool.

The Empire Bar is located in Tulsa's thriving Cherry Street District and has previously been voted Tulsa's Best Neighborhood Pub. The Empire has a long & "ghastly" past that spands nearly 70 years. The historic building has been home to everything from a butcher shop to a mechanic's garage, as is apparent from the sliding overhead doors that still make up the front of the building.

The Empire Bar has very eclectic & grunge appeal to it which is completely part of its charm. There's some billiard tables, poker machines, and a "jukebox" for entertainment along with a quaint outdoor beer garden for relaxing with a pint & friends. Although the quantity of taps isn't massive, the selection is well rounded with plenty of quality domestic & imported beers including some Belgian favorites such as Chimay, Hoegaarden, & Lindemans. In addition, they stock some decent imported bottles. The place is always busy during happy hour, so arrive early for the best available seats. The staff is friendly, sexy, & beer saavy... but don't expect to be treated like royalty unless you're wearing a crown. It's rumored that The Empire is haunted, so don't forget to bring the ghost repellent!
