This is a perfectly good neighborhood shop. The selection is more than adequate, and if you're used to what you find in any potraviny or even the large supermarkets, it's wonderful. The shopkeeper is very nice and more than helpful. She speaks enough English to assist in most issues/questions you may have, for those of you not quite functional in your Czech. Though the selection is largely lagers, there are some fine exceptions, incl. Pardubicky Porter, Primtor stout, and even an IPA. Recommended!

easy to find spot - on the castle side of the charles bridge, just a block or two off the river - an easy diversion from the tourist activities
its a rather small store, but they only sold beer and had a fair amount of it. The shopkeep spoke a little english and was nice enough to ask if i needed some help. it was probably the first time i have ever been in a beer store and generally needed help, because all of this czech beer was very foreign to me
she walked through a handfull of her favorite dark and light lagers and i wound up with 1 of each. I was relieved to discover that both were highly regarded on BA and both were nice. Quality service.

My experiences with large liqour and beer stores left me feeling a bit like this place was a closet. Of course, it didn't need space for aisles of wine, macro lagers, or other space eating merchandise. Galerie Piva onoly has space for the good stuff, and lots of it. There isn't a single grocery store beer in the bunch.
The service is very knowledgeable, and speaks enough English to make recommendations. Galerie Piva was a pleasant stop, and allowed me to sample beers that I have not seen at other places in Prague.

Probably the easiest bottleshop to find while in Prague. Just take the first real left after you cross George Bridge going north.
They specialize in only Czech beers and predominantly the ones that are independently owned. Prices are reasonable, ($1-3 per bottle) though you may find some better deals at the larger hypermarkets. The fella working the day I was there wasn't much help, but he was friendly and cracked open a cold one to help my parched mouth while perusing.
Cold ones were useful when wanting to people-watch on the bridge afterwards.

What a great random place that i happened to stumble into on my endless walks through prague.. Situationed in the Lesser town area right after walking off Charles Bridge this establishment is very easy to find and the staff is very friendly... I went in and found about 60 bottles of czech brews that i had mostly never heard of.. Included in this list were three Herold brews, a full line of Primator brews (some which arent included on the website so far) and many others.. I went in and bought 12 beers and they tossed me a complimentary box to carry them in SWEET! also while choosing all these beers i didnt know of i asked the nice czech man working there for his input and he was more than helpful to add which he liked and had a decent knowledge on his products.. Also they carried a nice line of glassware and some cold brews for on the spot refreshments.. Overall this is definetly a nice little hole in the wall to stop in to pick some hard to find czech brews and the only establishment i found on my walks through prague...
