From the tank at the brewery, RBESG. This is the brewery’s "brown porter" or "summer porter". Deep reddish brown colour, nearly black. Creamy tan head. Roasty aroma and flavour with notes of coffee and chocolate. Maybe a tad too sugary in the flavour, still it is fairly light bodied and easy drinking.

Do you have any American brown ale? I asked the bartender at Stockholm pub Oliver Twist. No, he replied, but this one comes pretty close. It is a brown porter with some interesting hops.
The colour is deep brown-red (like a Coke). The low beige foam leaves some lacing.
The rather mild smell is roasted/toasted with notes of black coffee, apples, liquorice, and a light fresh bitterness.
The taste is roasted with smoky flavours of grilled beef, espresso, roast beef and cookies. The body is medium; the aftertaste is milder than I had expected with flavours of rye bread, roast beet and a clean bitter note.
The carbonation is quite strong with medium sized bubbles; maybe it is a little bit too strong? The over all mouthfell is dry.
An interesting and refreshing variation of the porter style.
