Beer bottle (50 cl.) purchased from "Vin sur VIn" (St Luce), and tasted in 2012.

Appearance : red dark brown color, with tan foamy head.
Smell : roasted malty and coffee aromas.
Taste & mouthfeel : roasted flavor with coffee note, leading to dry finish.
Drinkability : a good beer in the English style Porter.

Very black, with a thin, dense white head. Big roasted malt cent with coffee, dark chocolate and a definite bitterness. The taste is very bitter, almost sour combine with roasted malts. Not too much in there.

Smooth, low carb feel. Thick, but not overly done body. Great smell, but the sour taste is off-putting. Wonder if I got the end of an older cask?

Purchased in a 500mL bottle from Great Grog in Edinburgh, UK. Served in a pint glass, lightly chilled.

A: This beer pours as a thick, VERY dark brown color. It has a tan head, with relatively small bubbles which dissipates quickly leaving a few rings of lace.

S: Smells of coffee and malt. I am a little bit congested, so aromas are subdued.

T: Biggest flavors are coffee with a nice amount of maltiness in there. I notice a hint of molasses and a good sweetness as well.

M: Very smooth, a little on the heavier side. Nicely carbonated too.

Overall this is a very solid beer with dark, rich and bold flavors. It was on sale so I bought a few bottles and I'm glad I did. It's great on a cold, rainy day.

My buddy and fellow BA 46and2 scored me a couple of Williams Brothers brews that arent normally available here since he works for the importer. Sadly this is tha last one. Thanks again Dan!

Consumed 9/14/09- from notes.

Brown 500ml bottle poured into a pint glass.

A- Dark brown, almost black with ruby around the edges when held up to the light. Nice two finger beige head that had good retention, pretty good lacing.

S- Roasty dark chocolate, light coffee hints.

T- The same qualities as the nose come through but richer and bolder, along with some licorice ( which I love ).

M- Medium bodied despite the appearance.

D- I could definitely have a few of these in a sitting.

Having had five of the Williams Brothers brews now I'd have to say that they make great beer. Hopefully it will be available here on a regular basis soon.

A - Pours a nice black but little head that goes down quickly - looks a bit stodgy but kind of in a nice way

S -Hops and bitter chocolate not bad at all

T - I can taste hops bitterness and faint chocolatey notes

M - A bit "still" too low in carbonation but nice and creamy otherwise

D - Average drinkability would probably have it again

Cask into pint glass.

Very deep brown, almost an opaque black. The head is tan, about two fingers thick, and stays in place for a very long time. Light roasted malts with a slight amount of chocolate. The flavor is on the lighter side, less robust, but that's exactly what I expect and want out of a good English Porter - burnt malts, and again, a touch of chocolate and black coffee. Hops are on the low end, not really noticeable. Full bodied, very smooth from the cask dispensing. Recommended.
