I lived 4 blocks from the Jenny St Market for 2 years and would go there almost daily for groceries and/or beer, so this place holds a special place in my heart. I lived in the neighborhood when they built the cooler, they used to just have an open refrigerated shelf with nowhere near the selection they have now. But now it is easily the nicest beer shop in town. Believe what everyone else has said about the temperature, this is the coldest walk-in beer cooler I've ever been in, but now they offer loaner fleece pull-overs right outside the door of the cooler (yes, really)! The selection is great, there is an excellent selection of Wisconsin and regional micro-brew, a wall full of bombers, a good selection of Belgian and your typical selection of imports and domestics. The cooler is very small but they make great use of every available inch of space. Prices are very reasonable, as Lewis Black said when he recorded a CD at the theater right up the street Wisconsin must have a government subsidy for alcohol because everything is so cheap here. It is cash only so be prepared, but the ATM gives a $1 coupon to off-set the fees. On top of the beer it is an incredible local grocery store with a comprehensive cheese selection, a full deli/butcher counter and fresh produce so you can select some good food to go with your great beer.

This is a wonderful local market on the east side of Madison. It is located on a very quaint road with very little traffic. Everyone who works there is extremely kind and very helpful. However, there are no workers hanging out in the aisle, so if you need help finding something, you better track someone down yourself. One could not wish for a better place to get food and beer.
Speaking of beer, their selection is astounding! The triangular room where they keep the beer is not very large and it is intensely cold, as the other reviews can attest. However, I would bear the cold with a smile, thinking of all the possibilities in my life. What if I lived right down the street and could walk here after work every day? I might be in heaven. I was amazed that so many beers could fit into such a small room. They do have bombers and other single bottles, just not single 12 oz. Not only do they have beer geek treats, they also give space to the standard economy beers as well. AND space goes to the flavored malt beverages and hard cider/tea/lemonade. So you can imagine how dense everything is in this room and how exciting it can be searching through the endless six-packs of great beer.
While some of the six-packs seemed a bit pricey, others were on the cheap side. This place is worth checking out if you are on the east side. It is also worth moving close to if you would like to live in a safe, friendly, quiet neighborhood with your family and would like a kick ass place for beer right around the corner.
