Pardubice’s fine brew. No expense spared! Named after the “Taxis” jump in the local steeplechase feared by horses and jockeys alike, this double-meshed pale beer gets the blood pumping. Pardubický Taxis appeals to connoisseurs and adventurous drinkers.

Jan. 2012: 500 ml bottle, kindly shared by gunnar. ABV is 6%. Deep golden colour, large white head. Moderate pilsener aroma, some floral hops. Standard pilsener flavour, acceptable hops. Decent enough.

Served cold from 500ml bottle into straight pilsner mug. Best before July 2016, so well within date.
L) Deep golden colour, clear, 1cm dense white head, lots of lines of bubbles. Immaculate.
S) Slightly sourish odour which I think is malt-related. Hmmm, not to good in this department.
T) Flat malty flavour with metallic overtone and papery hop bitterness.
F) Clean mouthfeel, carbonation not as strong as it looks. As noted in another review, there is a certain oiliness to it that is not necessarily unpleasant, it just slips down easily. No bitterness or other aftertastes to speak of.
O) Not a fan of this one, can't recommend it to you.

On tap at the Pivovarsky Klub. Active and clear, rich golden color, creamy white head with good retention and some lacing before it washes away.
Smell is basic. Pretty grainy with a whisp of heat and faint grassy hops.
Tastes grainy, but with a more prominent sweet malty backbone than most Czech beers. Mild hoppy bitterness and some earnest grassy/earthy hop flavor help this one to stand out among the crowd.
Light medium body, dry, clean. Benign.
Better than most Czech beers in that the body and hops are more substantial and discernible, respectively. But still pretty thin and grainy.
