Bottle, 330 ml, poured into a footed pilsner glass. ABV is 4,8%.

Golden yellow colour, with great activity in the glass and three fingers of white creamy head with excellent retention. Stayed there for what looked like forever! Heavy lacing left behind.
Aroma is mostly of hops, typical pilsner smell only much more enhanced.
Very hoppy and bitter. This is one of the best pilseners I've ever had.
Thin to medium body, with the right carbonation and very dry on the palate.
I got this one on a recent excursion to Germany, I hope that I can find it again, fantastic pilsener.

This is a very decent German Pilsener! Paderborn is a place in the north of Germany. I used to come there a lot when i was in the army. There on the German moors the Russians would attack us. Now the Germans brew a good beer there.

Poured in a Dutch beerglass this beer looks like i should. Good smell with some orange which i could detect a bit in the taste. Brewed by the Reinheitsgebot this is a classic German Pilsener.

.5L, best by 5/11.

Pours a rich, clear gold with a thick, fluffy head. Very good lacing and retention. More impressive looking than most pilsners.

Aroma is okay, with grainy husk, plus a hint of floral, woody hops.

Flavor is simultaneously dry and grainy-sweet. Perhaps it's the chalky, effervescent mouthfeel and woody hops that add to this dryness. Lingering bitterness. Slightly metallic on the finish, but really nothing overtly wrong here. Mouthfeel, as I mentioned, is not so smooth, and slightly below-average for the style.

Looks like a million bucks, but tastes like the forty-eurocent bottle of beer that it is. Not bad.

I picked this up at a shop on the U-Bahn! Very exciting to see a new beer there. Clear body with a lasting head and a very malty nose, much stronger than your typical regional German pilsner (which I like!) but also really, really malty, which is also reflected in the sweet taste and the somewhat thick mouthfeel--nothing spritely about this beer, but not a bad drinker.

This brew produces a nice tight ultra white head and has a distinctively golden clear body.

The light fragrance is mostly dominated by lemony aromas.

The taste is also light. Not bitter like most pilsners, but a little sweet and almost too light in body.

Not too bad for the cheap price. I obviously has quality ingredients, but maybe too much water.

BB 12-8-06. Nice and lasting thick white head persistant and very well lasting and a very light and bright golden pilsener. Nose is well malted, nice hoparoma remembering Hallertau MF and good and low yeastprofile.
Taste is light but with good dry maltnote, fine but moderately dosed hopbitterness and overall a pleasure to drink and fine example of a german pilsener.

Pours crystal clear golden beer with excellent white head, leaving lotsof laces. Nice smell of true german pilsener: earthy malts, herbal hops, honey & citrus. Taste: bready malts and strong hops, slightly metallic aftertaste. Very good balance and high carbonation.

A: Pours clear pale golden with a large white head. Dissipation is quick and leaves rich lacings.

S: Surprisingly fruity; apples, oranges and lemon sezt. Malt, dry and bitter hops. A bit grainy.

T: Dry bready malt, and bitter hops in nice balance. The fruit from the smell is way more discrete.

M: Aftertaste is long and bitter. Body is smooth, medium and carbonation mild.

O: This beer knocked me of my feet; cheap and in a 50 cl can - probably a poor product. Man was I wrong; this is a really, really nice German Pilsener.

A- Pours a big white persistant head that leaves some lace on the glass. Deep gold yellow body with minimal carbonation.

S- Normal, hoppy, spicy and a hint of malt. Fairly sweet a little metallic and watered down.

T- Very bitter hop front with an ethanol and metal middle and rusty bubble gum finish.

M- normal, medium boddied with big carbonation.

D- too gross to drink too much of but not that filling.

Man, I've been loving the German pilsners here in Frankfurt so far! This one poured with a huge, fine, thick, foamy,white head that lasted a while and good lace. Color is a clear pale yellow. Aroma is hops, malt, very slight skunk, spice, bread dough. Flavor is similar, but in place of the slight skunk there's a slight metallic. Little on the sweet side up front with bitter cutting in and taking over. Body is a bit round and soft with good carbonation. Finish is like flavor. Session beer for sure.

I was recently in Paderborn and had to sample the Paderborner the first time I saw it. The color was very light, which I found discouraging but everything else about it was quite memorable. The aroma was very hoppy and fresh. The flavor was surprisingly bitter, more like a double ipa than a pilsner. I had a 1/3 litre which I followed with a full litre. Very good. Would love to have it again.

Poured from a tall can to a tall beer glass the liquid is goldish-yellow with ok carbonation. The head is tall white and leaves some lace.

The smell is lightly hopped bread.

The taste is ok, a mildly hopped pilsener with a deep bready taste through out.

The mouthfeel is thicker then most, crisp does not come to mind. The carbonation is ok.

The drinkability is ok, not a bad brew, but it does drink more like an export style.

Brought this one home from a recent trip to Hesse, Marburg. It survived the trip ok. Not a hugely impressive beer, it comes in a nice size can and is decently drinkable. Disclaimer: Couldn't see the beer (drank it right out of the can) but gave it highest ratings anyway. I had it today as a special treat to myself while I plowed through the Sunday NYTimes. Unfortunately for us newspaper junkies, the .5L can lasted a lot longer than the paper did. They even reduced the overall size of the magazine section by 9% (but with a reduced but more readable typescript, no loss in text!). I would think you could even enjoy one of these in reading the morning paper, perhaps with a light sandwich. Prosit!

I had a few of these during a recent trip through the Ruhr region of the German state of Nordrhein-Westfalen. The city of Paderborn is located in the region, and this seems to be the region's unoffical "cheap beer" (a roughly 20 ounce can cost a little over a Euro) It's a typical German Pils. Nothing too remarkable, but a very solid beer. It's a sad commentary on the state of American pilsners that a 3rd rate German regional beer is better than most American pilsners.
