Pours black as night from the 12oz bottle into the usual tulip. No head whatsoever, hardly any lacing. Weird. Might be a glass wash/rinse issue on my end.

Smell holds a lot chocolate with plenty of coffee. Very aromatic and inviting. As it warms the coffee takes over the chocolate, in a good way.

The flavor is almost all chocolate. Milk chocolate and dark bitter chocolate both present. Some coffee mixes in nicely, as well as some caramel on the finish. Very full flavored, but easily palatable.

A full bodied beer for sure, with just enough carbonation. Nice and slick in your mouth with a fairly sweet finish. Flavor lingers for a while. One of the best porters I've had, too bad I only have the one.

355ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£2.60):
Opaque mahogany colour, almost black. Has a thin, medium brown head with red tinges about 0.5cm tall and holds great with some lacing too.

Light coffee with some roasted malts, hints of chocolate and a nice earthy aroma that is light but noticeable. The aroma is a rich some with some sweet caramel touches with some light bitterness.

Sweet malts with some roasted one on top and a good helping of chocolate. The beer is lighter than I was expecting and quite rich too with a tiny but of spice right at the end.

Medium, very smooth, some rich and sweet flavours. The balance of the beer is pretty much perfect and the beer is clean with a dry, sweet finish.

Brilliant beer that is not as dark or heavy as I was expecting but it managed to have a great balance between the sweet malts and the darker, roasted malts that follow. A very easy beer to drink and one that goes far too fast.

Dark, Rich, and Sexy, yes it is!

While I am still new to the characteristics of beer, I will try my best.

Nice dark color, and comes to a good head.

Tastes amazing, creamy and sweet with hints of coffee and cocoa

Texture is a little thin but the flavor makes up for any shortfalls in this beer.

This beer is amazing, and I have yet to find another Porter that is equal!
