from a growler filled at the brewery last week (and properly stored)
served in a Founders pint glass
A - pours with about half an inch of tight, fizzy slightly off-white foam. settles within a couple minutes to a thin film with some light wet lacing around the glass. the beer is just slightly hazy, dark gold in color.
S - bright, piney and wet grassy hops - slightly earthy and a bit of citrus. malty sweetness comes through somewhat biscuity and a small amount of caramel. all over the place in a good sort of way.
T - begins hoppy again with a solid amount of grapefruit, oranges, and pine needles. luscious fruitiness carries into big biting bitterness at the back of the tongue. malt is mostly there for show, peeking its light toasted caramel head in once in awhile but mostly saying out of the way.
M - nicely medium bodied, with moderate prickly carbonation (still - tip of the cap to an excellent growler fill all the way to the top). nice and creamy, cut through in the finish with assertive bitterness through the end.
D - So far, so good - as I am on pint number two. This wonderfully straight-forward hop bomb goes down easy and hides its alcohol quite well. Easily my favorite beer from the Founder's visit and I'm glad I brought 64oz of it back with me.

A: clouded gold and orange. Has a mysterious hue and tint to it. Head is sub-par and lacing is minimal. This is roughly a day old from a growler. So my score may be skewed slightly. However, it still has plenty of likable dimensions in appearance
S: nose is mostly hops. Smells range from sweet to dirty/earthy green cones. Plenty of fruity notes float about. Of course some caramel and malty goodness is detected
T: pithy fruits ranging from white grapefruit, oranges and lemons. In addition to these juicy fruits are a very natural pine and raw earthiness. The backend of each sip is quite bitter. Maltiness is doing what it should and staying clear of the hops to provide structure to this ever so delicious brew
M: finishes kinda clean and ever so bitter. Body is medium in weight and feels slick and resinous
D: adhering high alpha hop goodness. Another solid brew from an immaculate brewery

Growler pours served in a Surly pint glass courtesy of levifunk - cheers!
A - Cloudy light amber-orange, small white head, and decent lacing
S - Pungent floral hops, dried apricots, citrus, and perfume - great nose on this
T - Fruity, piny hops --> mango, peach, tangerine --> solid malt sweetness which is overpowered by a ton of grapefruit --> very bitter, floral, and fruity end to this - tropical fruits and citrus hops linger on the tongue for quite awhile afterward
M - Chewy and slightly syrupy, but not badly so. Carbonation is decent (growler).
D - Tasty beer, very bitter, 7% ABV - do the math
I knew this would be good, but I was surprised at just how good. This is pretty easily the best Founders IPA which I've had - I'd love to see it in bottles.

Had on tap at the Brewpub.
A_Hazy yellow/gold. Nice bubbly bone white head. Lacing coats the glass.
S_Very hoppy. Grassy/earthy hops with a splash of citrus and pine.
T_Follows the nose. Nice bitter hop bite. Grassy hops take the stage but there is a great mix of grapefruit and pine.
M_Full bodied and sticky on the lips with a crisp, dry finish.
D_Very enjoyable. I think MaCain likes this better than Centennial.
