Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tulip pint glass.

A: Clear, medium amber color with one finger of diminishing off-white foam head. Light lacing remains on the glass and diffuse bubbles rise across the column.

S: Herbaceous hops are dank, accompanied by lesser floral qualities. Grain is very clean; rye-like.

T: Begins dry, with robust toasted malt and hop aromatics that taste like very pithy grapefruit peel. Acidity is moderate into the middle, where the clean spiciness of rye from the smell also invades the flavor. Perfume-y floral hops also briefly appear before the finish which is clean, spicy, and only mildly bitter for the style.

M: Thin to medium viscosity, slightly acidic on the palate, with moderate carbonation.

D/O: This classic IPA recipe seems a bit old-fashioned by 2012 standards, but is strong in ways predictable to a Founders pale ale. Like other similar beers of the same origin, it finds strength in a well-positioned malt profile. Malt similarities make this beer seem, appropriately, like a scaled-up version of Founders Dry Hopped Pale Ale. The world may be ready, however, for the double- or triple dry-hopped version of this beer.

I believe in the "KISS" concept... "keep short and stupid"

So with saying that...

Do you like Centennial Hops? Do you like home brewing and buying centennial hops and just keeping some around to sniff?

Well if you're a Centennial hop lover like I am then this is the beer for you; as it is for me!

I won't even go into a lengthy review... this beer rocks; it's one that I keep in my frig all the time when I can get it.

Buy it, own it, drink it, enjoy it; be happy... no worries.

Enough said.

I poured this into a glass, it has a dark amber color body with a small white head that hangs out for a minute. The aroma has a nice malt and flora aroma to it. The taste has a very nice sweet malt flavor, which follows by citrus flora hop. The mouthfeel is really good and overall a really good drinking ipa.

Founders Brewing Company - Founders Centennial IPA - 12fl oz bottle

Look - Dark slightly hazy amber to red with a good soapy head that leaves a good amount of sticky lacing behind. Moderate carbonation. Beer simply can't look much better than this brew.

Smell - Rich deep caramel malts with a smooth and resiny hop overlay. Warm and inviting, fully bodied.

Taste - Rich smooth pine/resin hop flavor with a nice dry bitter resin finish. Dry hopping adds a great twist to the finish here.

Mouthfeel - Slightly sticky and malty goodness coats the mouth. Dry slightly bitter hop resin along the palate. Quite drinkable and not boozy at all.

Overall - Excellent brew! Full flavored, rich, hearty, with big malts and big dry hops. This is the way it's done!

I was quite surprised to see this six pack in the beer aisle at HEB in Round Rock...scooped up a sixer with a grin on my face.

Nice copper color, good clarity, a head that fades quickly but leaves some decent streaks of lace. Smell is of uber fresh flora and ctirusl hops with a light note of sweet/spicey malt.

Taste follows scent...really good combo of hops and malt here...the aftertaste is quite different than a typical hoppy IPA...really enjoying collaboration of flavors in this...citrus, grassy hops, sweet caramel, and spices. Goes down like butta and I'm finding it quite difficult not to chug....always a good sign.

I gotta say, this is a kick butt IPA. So glad to have it in Texas.
