In the mood for hops, hopefully this will do the trick.
Appearance: Poured from the bottle into my Short's glass, this beer is a cloudy, yellowy-gold color. Despite a rough pour, there's not a lot of head going on...maybe a half inch worth of bone white, soapy foam.
Smell: Not quite the hop bomb I was hoping for. Not much in the way of hops at all. Bottled on date is December, 2010...after three months we got ourselves some serious hop fade I guess.
Taste: Well, the hops are a bit more pronounced here...but not by too much. The hops take on a sweet citrus sort of quality, but it's tough to pick it out given the maltiness of the brew.
Mouthfeel: Nice medium body, good carbonation. There's a bit of a resiny sort of quality to it, but nothing that detracts from the beer.
Overall (Drinkability): I'm torn with this beer. It's three months old, and while age certainly accounts for the hops fading I'm having a tough time rationalizing this much fade. What flavor I can pick up is good, so I really want to try this brew when it's fresh. So, with that said...Founder's has not yet disappointed me with any of their brews, so I will absolutely seek this one out again to get me some fresh hoppy goodness. I will, of course, update my review to reflect a fresher brew.

I don't even know where to begin. You know how after you drink an amazing IPA you taste it at random times of the day in the future? Well this beer did that to me.
Juicy hops cones, ripe blood orange, grapefruit, mango. Long sweet and bitter finish. This beer has it all, and it officially in my top 3 DIPA along with Enjoy By and Sucks.

Poured Double Trouble in to a pint glass.
A - The hazy orange beer looks beautiful for a Imperial IPA. It has a small half finger of head with a aggressive pour.
S - First thing I get is grapefruit, some citrus, orange. The hops comes through with a little pine as well.
T - Wow, a lot going on here. It has some bitter hops, grapefruit again, malt sweetness in there to really balance this beer beautifully. Obviously there is some strong hop character with pine. Very nicely done here.
M - This is where this beer shines, its nice and smooth with quite a bit of body to it. I would put it somewhere in the medium range, it just coats your mouth really nice for a IPA. Lovely stuff here my friend.
O - Just another solid offering from Founders. Enjoy! Cheers!
