Essentially an "Imperial Rübæus," this ale contains four times the amount of raspberries as Rübæus and is fermented with a Belgian yeast strain.

Thanks to Hmph for this one received in a nice trade.

Nice looking beer, very dark red almost like concentrated raspberry juice, with a great purple head that left pretty good lacing.

Tons of raspberries in the smell, just a touch of maltiness but mostly extreme fruitiness all the way.

Amazing taste, better than I expected (and my expectations were pretty high). Raspberry heaven, moderate sweetness that perfectly balances sour and sweet flavors.

Body is pretty full, slick and very nicely carbonated. This one reminds me of various other highly fruity beers, and reminds me even more of why fruit beers remain my favorite style. Notably, I can't detect a smidge of alcohol anywhere.

I find it amazing that when it comes to fruit beers, the usual malts and hops are almost irrelevant. I just really love the fruits, but only when it's BEER, not when it's sicky-sweet wines or whatever other beverages feature fruits. Fruit beers rock!

Overall this one is tied between excellent and amazing. Nuff said.

750ml into a snifter. 2011 vintage.

A. Dark ruby with a small off-white head.

S. Fresh raspberry in the nose, sweetish, not much else.

T. Raspberry flesh, slightly syrupy, a bit of tartness to it.

M. Medium-bodied, light carbonation.

O. This is very reminiscent of New Glarus' Raspberry Tart, but slightly less sweet (which is a good thing). There's not really much to the beer besides the raspberry flavor.

Pours a raspberry jam color with no head whatsoever.

The aroma is exactly how it would smell if I had a hand full of fresh raspberries.

Raspberries out the ass! Sweet, slightly tart and very delicious!

Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very tart with a tongue stinging acidity.

Founders never disappoints! Absolutely delicious. I'm glad I got to have this at a tasting because it is a very bold beer but my glass was amazing from start to finish.
