Bottled on 04/19/12. Aged 6 months before opening.

A: A slow pour into a standard pint glass produced about a quarter-finger of head that was a khaki color. The head dissipated to a collar in a few minutes and left a small amount of lacing. The brew is a reddish/copper color, very cloudy, and just barely translucent.

S: The aroma is very mild. It consists of malt sweetness, some fruitiness of pears and apples, and just a little bit of floral, too.

T: The taste started with malted barley and caramel-like sweetness with roasted grains. Next, just a touch of earthy and floral hops joined in for a touch of balancing bitterness for the sweet malt.

M: The body is very smooth, full, and just to the heavier side of medium.

O: This is a very good old ale style beer. It is bold and smooth. The sweet malt and roasted grain flavor was very strong and soften just enough by the mild hops. This is a good, basic, straight-forward old ale; and, it is this bold simplicity that makes this beer so appealing to a fan of the old ale style. Also, for almost 10% ABV the alcohol is very well hidden. It is a smooth and easy drinking beer. So be careful, and enjoy.
