Acquired via trade...thanks Bill. 12 ounce bottle poured into a snifter. Bottled on 6/17/09. Comes in at 12% and 112 IBUs.

A-Pours a somewhat hazy amber. It has a small off white head that fades quickly except for one portion of the glass where it remains as a bubbly layer. Some sediment can be seen floating through the glass. It leaves some wavy lace patterns.

S-Aromas of pineapple, pine, orange, and a little grapefruit are all given off from the hops. Considering it had a few months of age on it, it does not smell of sweet malt. Not surprisingly, as it warms the 12% becomes more noticeable.

T-The taste follows the nose. Lots of pine and citrus are evident along with some sweet caramel malt that cuts in midway through each sip. It finishes with some bitterness. The booze is not as strong as I expected it would be in each sip. There is a lingering pine taste in between sips.

M-Thick and full bodied with light carbonation.

D-The 12% limits this beer, although it was not as boozy as expected.

I was pretty impressed with how well this tasted with four plus months of age on it. It did not turn into the malt monster I was expecting. Would love to try when extremely fresh.
