I have been to the Brewhouse lots of time since it is one of my moms favorite places to eat, as well as mine. The atmosphere is pretty good, just depends on where you are sitting. The inside area has a nice sized dining room with a medium sized attached bar area with a good amount of seating around it. The deck has a large seating area and an indoor/outdoor bar area. Both the inside and outside areas have lots of TV's and music playing to keep you entertained.
The quality has always been good. They serve most of the beers in the right type of glassware but every now and then you may get one in the wrong glass, mostly when a newer person serves it up. The food quality has always been good as well, with the ingredients always being fresh and flavorful. The service has always been pretty good but at times it can be a bit hit or miss. I have been in here when it gets a little crowded and we had to wait for quite some time to get our drinks refilled.
In the past few years they have really stepped up their selection. You won't find anything too "rare" on every given day but every now and then you might find a keg of KBS or something along those lines popping up here. On my last visit I had a Green Flash west coast IPA and, since they were having a Troegs event, a cask dead reckoning. The prices are pretty good across the board with only a few beers being overpriced.
The real reason I like to come here is the food. I could eat their fries all day, every day. I usually get a burger or a club sandwich and both are excellent. I have also had quite a few other things on the menu but those two are by far my favorites. Overall, if you are in the area and looking for a laid back place to have some good food and good beer, you should give this place a try.

I seem to go to Brewhouse about twice a month for dinner and beers with my wife. There has only been one time in maybe 2 years where they didn't have any beer on tap that excited me. They have something like 30 taps, and you can usually find beers like HopSlam, Nugget Nectar, and Stone Double Bastard (beers in this realm). These are right in my wheelhouse, and I always look forward to going to see what they have.
They have cask beer too, and beer on cask is inhumanly smooth and amazing regardless of what it is (wonder what Bud on cask would taste like? Yeah).
The service is stellar, the food is great. Downright great and reasonably priced. The back deck is huge and the bar area is bar-like (in a good way) and comfortable. The dining area has a family-dining vibe which is pretty dull, but to me that is literally the only downside to this place.

A nice local bar that is an eclectic mix of craft beer enthusiasts and just people looking to have a good time. Nice tap selection that rotates and 2 large coolers full of bottles, not anything crazy rare, but a nice overall selection. Two large bars one smoking and one non-smoking with a deck. Brad is a great bar tender that provides great service. Great to stop in to grab an after work beer or to unwind for a little bit and relax. Food is outstanding and is served very quickly. Check it out if your in the area.

First off, if you are using a GPS to find the Brewhouse Grille you will have to enter 2050 Hummel St. vs. State St., otherwise, you'll wind up at a dead end with no bar in sight.
I initially sat at the outside bar/deck to catch the last of the day's sun. The folks were friendly, but the beer choices were limited. So, after a couple of Troegs' Sunshine Wheat I headed inside for a flat bread pizza (as recommended outside by one of the locals). Inside there was a greater selection of beers on tap which included:
Blue Moon, Magic Hat #9, Coors Light, Miller Lite, Stella, Yuengling, Guinness, Harp, Sly Fox Pilsner, Troegs' Hop Back, Pale Ale & Sunshine Wheat, Victory Golden Monkey, Erie Derailed, SN Harvest & Pale Ale, Franziskaner Weisse, Hoegarden, Smithwicks, Sam Adams Summer and Ithica Sunny Wheat.
The inside of the Brewhouse was just your average bar coupled with a good sized dining area. The bar area was nothing fancy, maybe a few notches up from a spruced up VFW post, complete with old guys sitting around drinking Bud Light (it was a Monday night). The dining area fell somewhere between an upgraded pizza joint and a mid range Mexican franchise. The flatbread pizza was unique, but not exactly something I'd go back for, or even recommend.
On the plus side, the bars (both inside and out) have rows of flat screen TVs to keep you entertained, the bartenders are prompt and the prices were very reasonable. Not sure that I'll be going back any time soon, but if I happen to crash my car right outside, I'd go in for a beer.

This is the place to go for beer lovers that live on the west shore of the Harrisburg area. The outdoor bar area is very nice, there's not much of a view there but I can't really complain about that. There is always an excellent selection of craft beers to choose from courtesy of Westy's. I can always find 2-3 beers that I love on tap plus there are lots of bottles to choose from. If you go during happy hour from 5-7 on the week days you can even get all beers on draft half off, it's a great deal. It's the perfect place to unwind after a long day at work. I really like the food as well. If you live in the area and haven't been to this place yet I would recommend checking it out. If you enjoy good beer, good food, and watching sports with good people this is the place to go.
Edit: I have to second the notion that the parking lot is pretty tight. Be careful when leaving. I've seen people back into peoples cars already.

Went to the Brewhouse for lunch with BA Deuane. Nice layout at the horseshoe shaped bar. Very decent draft selection with a few seasonal beers (pumpkins and Oktoberfests). But, I opted for one of my favorites, Two Hearted Ale ( it is usually always available here on tap). We got our beer, ordered our lunch and chatted with a few people at the bar. Our sandwiches arrived in a short amount of time and I ordered my second beer, a Red Seal. There is a decent selection of at least 75 bottles to choose from in the cooler as well. Prices for the beer and food were reasonable.

I have frequented the Brewhouse Grille, since it morphed from the Iron Kettle, and the beer selection is great - both taps and bottles...
I've seen everything from Troegs, Bells, Stone ThreeFloyds (Robert the Bruce and Alpha King), Victory Old Horizontals/Currently has Storm King and one of my new found favorites - Green Flash West Coast IPA on tap. They keep the tap selection fresh and revolving (some regulars, such as Bells two hearted and Rogue Dead Guy). (Kudos to Westys)
The staff understands the beers (as much as they can possibly keep up with the selection changes)...I was even warned by my waitress, when she brought me the Victory Old Horizontal to, "Make sure you're careful with this one...It has a high alcohol content..."
The food is reasonable and tasty...They have an all you can eat crab leg night (Get there early). They do have excellent fries.
The crowd is chill and during the dinner hour, does have a family atmosphere in the dining area. Check out the outside deck, where you can order any of the beers from the inside selection, as well as the outside.
There is local musical talent on certain nights and there are always beers specials daily.
My only beef is that the parking lot is really tight...be careful...
If you're ever on the East or West Shores of Harrisburg, stop in.

SMOKEY ! uncool ! IMO some really good beer there but what the hell does that matter when my snout is filled with cigarette smoke ?..even in the non-smoking area :( ...Smokers carrying lit smokes were allowed to stroll through non-smoking to an outside area...LAME !
The waitress was attentive but short on attention if you will. When only one of two people can get "A water please." before she turns and goes is poor service.
Enjoyed 2 Bell's two-hearted ales (fresh...great hop burps!) w/ a blackened chicken sandwich with blue cheese....decent.
I'd rather only go back if it becomes non-smoking all together.

I entered with my girlfriend around 6pm and it was crowded, but we were seated after only a short wait. I checked out the drafts on the outdated chalkboard as we went to our table which was candlelit in the the closest to the door practically. The ambience was pleasant and the staff was moving quickly to accomodate the full house. I like the partition that separates the bar from the restaurant. It still was slightly noisy with tiled floor and limited plant life, but still not distracting.
The menu was a nice surprise with the variety including everything from salads to burgers/wraps and appetizers as well as over a dozen entrees. The entree choices were broad in scope from: Chicken Parm, Gnocci Scarpone, Filet Mignon, Ahi Tuna, Seafood Jambalaya, Ny Strip, Eggplant Parm Pork Tenderloin Medallians, Babyback Ribs and my Entree Choice-Grouper with Lobster sauce, rice pilaf and asparagus.
The Drink order was taken and returned in minutes, and moments later I was enjoying my fresh green salad w/ spinach and my date was tasting Crab and corn chowder. I enjoyed the accent lighting that added to the mood including skylights and lighted fans. There was a sufficient amount of smokeaters to suck up smoke also.
I was enjoying steaming hot and fresh grouper less than 20 min later. The fish was lightly seasoned and cooked just right. I enjoyed the way the asparagus was prepared also-al dente.
The waitress was friendly and asked if I wanted more to drink which was appreciated. The lobster sauce accented the pilaf and fish well, it was sweet and creamy. The portion size was generous and I went over to the bar to pick out a mixed six of Micros from across the country and the state of PA.
I enjoyed everything about the experience- The art including Frank Sinatra's mugshot, Bob Dylan and David Bowie shaking hands, Elvis's grinning mug and the service was above average. I would definitely come back.

We decided to stop in on Saturday after a trip to Westy's and Troeg's for tastings. Easy to get to the place, with plenty of available parking. Walking in, we couldn't find 3 seats in together for the 3 of us, so we opted to sit in the dining portion instead, plus we wanted to eat and get a breather from the smoke in the bar. Their draft list was pretty impressive, with lots of good West Coast IPAs. Only bad thing was they hadn't updated the list or the chalk board, and everything I had wanted to try was kicked. I finally decided to get the Frankenberry, half Franziskaner half Lindeman's Framboise, very tasty.
The food was also very enjoyable, excellent corn and crab chowder, and a reasonable price. Plenty of nice modern flatscreens to watch sports on as well. Oh, and the bottle selection was very impressive, especially for Pennsylvania. Somehow they managed to get some New Belgium brews, something I haven't found much past Chicago. Its definitely worth a stop for a brew or two along with a quick bite to eat whenever you find yourself near Harrisburg.
