Stopped in hoping to find something interesting as another revew had suggested I might. Not really anything here I hadn't already tried or was looking for. A little better than average selection, but not as good as bottle barn. They have a mix of quasi-obscure foreign and local brews. Beer is mostly all refrigerated, so the quality looks good. If you happen to be close, might as well check it out, but nothing to travel for. I think this shop would do better trying to stockpile some of the more obscure local stuff that others run out of- I didn't see any real evidence of that while I was there. No one offered help and I didn't ask.

From the outside, the Nichols Company looks like an unassuming retailer but once you walk in the door you're overwhelmed with selection. Much of the store is fine wines and they've got a selection that's stocked floor-to-ceiling. In the back part of the store are 12+ coolers stocked with beer including quite a few obscure or hard to find brews. All of the beer is refrigerated, meaning that surprise six pack of Anchor Our Special Ale 2003 has been well cared for while it aged in the back room.
The stock is quite diverse - a couple of coolers of European imports including Belgians and Czech beer along with the expected Samuel Smith... There are four or five coolers of local breweries including Bear Republic, Lagunitas, Mendocino, North Coast, Humboldt etc... Broad selections of each, not just the three most popular brews. They've also got the expected national craft brewers - Ommegang, Stone, Rogue etc. Prices are a bit on the high side ($3.99 for many bombers) but the selection makes up for it.
The owner is quite proud of his beer selection and was very happy to show me some of the newer exotic brews which had just arrived including an odd South American beer and even more Czech brews. This is a great place to go scavenger hunting - you're always certain to find a treasure!
