Ryan hooks me up big here. He must appreciate all of those vintage Zombie Dust I've sent him. Poured into a HF stemmed tulip at cellar temp.
A - Dark brown with some red hues. Thick, slightly off-white head.
S - Sweetness, slightest amount of caramel with some nice vanilla coming through. There is what I'd describe as a coconut coming through a tad bit as well somewhere in the middle.
T - Surprisingly complex. Sweet malts quickly move to some fruitiness, which shows some underlying woodiness. The finish is strong on the fruit. The slightest amounts of caramel and vanilla come through, but they aren't dominant at all. The finish is a nice blend of sweet and dry. At first I found something similar to a pineapple to be the fruity finish. I'm uncertain after about 5 ounces. Some black cherry-like flavors come in the middle. Almost like it has a hint of apple somewhere.
M - Medium body. Suitable for the beer.
O - Great all around. I'll happily take another one of these. No, it isn't really like a Scotch Ale as far as my experience goes. However, I do like it a lot. Very unique.

Poured into tulip.
A Crystal brown. Transparent. Thick brown head. Thick lacing remains down.
S Whow! Potent. Cherry. Grape.. Alcohol. Brown sugar. Malts. Caramel. Highlight of this beer.
T Interesting. There's a schism: get a big boozy alcohol and oak hit, but equaling strong is the the tangy fruit (cherry, grape, even a little kiwi) along with some chocolate and black pepper.
M Bready. Full. Has a boozy aftertaste. This lingers.
O This is a complex brew. Fruity, sweet, caremelly, chocolaty. However, the other side really turned me off. Way too boozy. The oak barreling didn't kill it, but it didn't make it either. Just too much booze.

750ml waxed bottle into a tulip glass - Vintage 2012
A: Pours a dark mahogany brown with a nice light brown head that fades to a ring and leaves a bit of lacing on the glass.
S: The nose is brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, and a touch of peat.
T: The taste is similar to the nose and tastes great. Loads of vanilla, brown sugar, toffee, and whiskey.
M: The mouthfeel is medium bodied and a little creamy. Not as creamy or as full of a body and I'd like from a Wee Heavy.
O: This is a tasty beverage and one I would love to have again and fresh. No infection in this bottle but it was kept in a fridge most of the time.

A -: Poured a dark crimson color with good carbonation leaving a moderate white foamy cap which quickly resedes leaving a light dusting of bubbles
S : Funk, stinging booze with bourbon, oak, caramel and char
T : First sip says yep "I'm funkdafied". Infection lurking in the background but its still buried by oak, char, caramel and bourbon. The finish is lingering, infection, sweetness and heat
M: Mediumt o full body, I felt it was a bit thin, perhaps overcarbed but this may be the underlying infection at work
O: Drinkable now but I can see this really taking a turn for the worse in the not so distant future. Another Minneapolis Town Hall Infection bomb. These guys really need to QC and clean up their act.
