Pours with a solid head with copper color. Decent looking beer. A bit of malt and hops in the nose neither very prominent.

Taste is a bit sweet and tea like tannin aftertaste but a nice easy drinking beer. A filler perhaps in a 12 pack sampler but ok nonetheless.

Type: Bottle 12 oz
Glass: Pint
From: Sahara Mart in Bloomington, IN
Price: $8.5 for a six pack

Appearance: a dull orangish-red. slightly hazy. a finger or so off-white head that leaves a lacing

Smell: kinda dull but not awful. bready

Taste: complex but not well done. bread, caramel malts, piney hops

Mouthfeel: start from the fridge its started off crisp but quickly gave way to a sticky resiny bitterness.

Overall: Not impressed with this one. Maybe its old, but this is all i got to go off of.

Bottled Jan ‘12
(Served in a dimple mug)
A- This beer pours a hazy reddish brown body with a slightly sticky oatmeal tan head that last a good bit.

S- The light dry toasted malt has a mellow woody aroma to it with some green hops in the finish.

T- The dry toasted malt taste has some green herbal hops to follow in a slightly dry finish. There is a nice lightly toasted biscuit malt flavor that comes through as the beer opens.

M- The medium mouthfeel has no alcohol heat and a gentle fizz.

O- This beer has a nice blend of hops and a good support of malt. There is also a nice depth to the malt that makes this very drinkable.

S-Caramel, toffee, some grass, tad bit of hops.

T-Caramel, toffee, some roasted malt, ends with grass, no bitterness.

M-Medium bodied, some carbonation.

O-A bland boring Amber Ale. Nothing special here.

Pours clear crimson with a small off-white head dissipating almost immediately.

Bready aroma with some caramel, pine and spice.

Flavor is much hoppier than your average red. That bready caramel thing is still present making it a bit sticky, but a nice underlying pine flavor asserts itself before finishing spicy and dry.

Medium to light bodied a touch of creaminess and good carbonation.

Probably my favorite "every day" Upland beer. Nothing radically or fantastic about this one, but a solid easy drinking red good for days of sitting on the patio with a plate of nachos.

Reviewed from notes. Had on-tap at Hearthstone in Indianapolis. Poured into a pint glass.

A: Pours a hazy, bland red with a one-finger light tan head.

S: Grapefruit & pine hop aroma with biscuit malt. No particular depth to the smells here, nor do I find that it changes as it warms.

T: The taste follows the nose well, but neither is really particularly exciting.

M: Mouthfeel seems a bit on the thin side. Alcohol nearly undetectable. There is a mild bitter hang.

O: Not overly impressed with my first foray into Uplands brews. It's not bad, but strikes me more as a decent homebrew rather than an offering from a brewery with an up-and-coming reputation. This one gets an overwhelming "Meh" from me.
