Latest batch release, thanks to Mike I believe...Pours a light hazy peach, good looking. Lots of head at first, falls very quickly though...The aroma is fantastic, sweet peaches mixed with the perfect amount of tartness...The taste is more of the same, sweet yet tart peaches, could use a tad more tartness though. Some sugar notes with a little oak. So good, and easily crushable...The feel is really nice, as its got a nice puckering sensation.

Another stellar Upland. Clearly shows the newest batch is on POINT. You gotta get you some!

My husband and I grabbed this when we were down at Upland over the summer and sampled it 10/23/2011.

I love sour beers, but in the past Lambic's from 'some breweries' (being nice being nice!) have disappointed me due to being way too sweet.

The appearance is gorgeous! Cloudy yellow with some inclusions and a white foamy head, the head quickly dissipates. Smelling it is drool-worthy - a sour citrus scent dominates with a slightly biscuit undertone. I don't get peach from the scent, but I get a sour-sniff of what's to come!

Oh.. the taste... Sour in general to a sour peach, to a very sweet peach nectar. Finishes tingling on the tongue with a sweet lingering peach on the palate. Oh so delicious! Medium carbonation carries the sour and sweet notes both nicely over the tongue.

Lovely lovely lambic, almost champagne like in it's carbonation/sour interplay. One of my favorite fruit sour beers so far!

They knocked it out of the park with this one. Truly great.

Beer is hazy and dark yellow with a wispy head. No lacing, nice carbonation.

Aroma is super sour, citric and acetic with nice peach notes.

Beer is thin and heavily carbonated on the palate. I really enjoy this beer a lot. It is acetic and lactic, mildly citric or succinic, nice peach flavor, tartness at the back, I really love this beer. I want more more more.

A-nice hazy yellow/orange color with white head that sticks around awhile
S-very sour smelling with a very subtle peach smell. I don't like peaches but I really like this smell
T-nice sour tartness. Little bit of peachiness and pleasantly suprised with it. Very tart
M-light body and fruity
O-very good beer. Makes my mouth water for more. Cant wait for more lambic.

2008, 1st release.

Little to no noise from the cork, a soft wispy bit of skim floats across the surface, with a healthy ring of bubbles around the edge. Bright jewel tone clarity, glowing honey orange.

Farmy whiff of barnyard, acetic fuzzy peach skins, buttery oak.

Huge coconut and vanilla oddly enough, these oak characteristics bleed through the acetic sourness of the fruit. Discernable peach flesh and pits, dry aftertaste with hints of brett and oaky vanilla. Puckering initially, drying out soon after. Light bodied with minimal carbonation, the intensity of it's flavors make up for the lack of body, and traditional lambic is still (flat) in some cases. Extremely drinkable, especially quenching. This has really come around after a couple years, when fresh it resembled straight peach juice. Thanks Joe!

Edit: 2nd 2008 bottle opened was still completely flat and one-dimensional peach juice. Oh well... hopefully going forward Upland will have the carbonation issues taken care of.

2nd Edit: 2011 batch. Properly carbonated, fruity with tangy peach, moderately sour. Well done, an improvement to be sure.

One of many unexpected great sour brews drabmuh pulled out the other night. Thanks Matt!

The beer is a straw yellow hue, with tons of bubbles present. There is very little head to speak of (that's what she said).

The aroma is funky, wild peaches in a barrel on a farm. Lots of 'em. Yeah, that about covers it.

The taste? Funky, wild peaches in a barrel on a farm...seriously. Really tasty beer. One of Upland Brewing Company's better offerings. Fruit and funky sourness play very well together in this setting.

Nice, puckering finish with every sip. Acetic, but not harsh. Smack!

Overall, another delicious fruit lambic from Upland. I'd happily have this again anytime. Definitely recommended.

Dr. Matt pulled this guy out at his home for a couple of us freaks to enjoy, thanks! Really enjoy this beers from Upland and looking forward to this one.

Poured into my Russian River 'tion' glass and this is a light yellow with a slight peach hue. Goddamn this smells good. Like a goddamn funky wild peach and the taste is just as intense. Tart and sour with some funk and acid. Appropriately carbonated.

I'm a big fan.

Received one of each of these delicious brews from TheodorHerzl. After I reviewed the Blackberry Lambic I swore I wouldn't drink anymore of these for a few months. Well I couldn't wait, it was freaking delicious. Drank from my Stone India Pale Ale flute while watching New England vs San Diego.

Appearance- Pours a nice hazy orange yellowish that is pretty much the exact color you'd expect. No fizz, no cap and collar and no lacing. Shit... I'm assuming this is WAY under carbonated. Guess I should have waited.
Smell- Like the Blackberry there's not a lot of that crazy funk in the nose like you'd expect. There is a tiny bit of mustiness but it's very light and very pleasant. The Peach is more prominent that I expected leaving a nice ripe lingering fruitiness. Oak and vanilla seems way more pronounced than in the Blackberry which I'm kind of assumed since Peach is a much mellower fruit than Blackberry.
Taste- Yep, hardly ANY carbonation at all. F! The Peach is very prominent and delicious as hell! Lightly sour from the Brett and not as tart as the other Lambic I had. A very light vinegary side though makes sure you don't forget this is a Lambic. It tickles the back of the throat with that familiar acidity. The Peach gets even nicer as this warms and the oak and vanilla really come forward. The finish has that same lingering vanilla woody goodness that the Blackberry did. So awesome!
Mouthfeel- Well since it's not carbonated the body feels really thin and watery and it pains me to give this a lower score than I know it deserves.
Drinkability- I really feel that the fact that this has almost no carbonation probably affected the flavor a bit which is what keeps me from giving it a 5 that I know it deserves. It's remarkably delicious and the Peach is so perfectly potent that I almost can't believe it. If you have a bottle of this you may want to sit on it for a couple months just to be sure it's fully carbonated. My score really doesn't reflect how good this beer is because Mouthfeel and Appearance have to take hit. Huge thanks to Matt for the opportunity!

750ml caged and corked bottle thanks to a trade with pittsburghkid66. Thanks Roland for the trade and the hospitality!

A- Pours a clear straw/yellow with a white fizzy head that dies down quickly after the initial pour. Scattered lacing, medium retention.
S- A strong lactic sourness with a slight funky barnyard finish. Don't get me wrong, it smells quite good, but I'm not detecting any peaches.
T- Crisp, tart, lactic sourness with no real hint of peach. Reminds me more of a well-done gueuze than a lambic, but tasty.
M- Medium to light body, dry, tart.
D- High. Sour, but not too distracting. No issues finishing my bottle.

Overall - Not too shabby. Right now I'd put this well above the Strawberry but slightly above the Blueberry. A stronger peach flavor profile would have helped, but in the end this is well made. Reminds me more of a combo between Cuvee Renee and Brute. If you want more fruit, go for the Blueberry. If tart/sour is your game, hit up the Peach.

A - Yellow beer with a little bit of orange in it. Nice carbonation, white head that left some minor stick on the side.

S - Fantastic smell of tartness with some great peach flavors. Little bit of wood and yeast. Good tartness, smells great.

T - Great tart and peach flavor. Little bit of funk. Taste is a great mix of tart, sour, and fruity sweetness.

M - Some effervecence, medium bodied, good carbonation.

O - Great beer. Upland keeps getting better at these things, and this is a great sour for any maker or country.

Think brew is aged.

The taste isnt as sour as I thought. I was hoping peach would be the most sour.

The taste is mostly refreshing and peach. Its good! I, however, wish it was a little more sour. It has a slightly funky taste that I cant get a grasp on.

Overall, this is a good brew!

Cheers!

A corked and caged 750 mL bottle from fvernon; thank you very much! Hand written bottling info indicates a batch number of 42-90 and a bottled on date of 10/12/2010. Split with the girl into a DFH signature glass and a Deschutes Tulip...

Upon pulling out the cork, there was perhaps a second of peace before the bubbly head started gushing forth. I was prepared that this one may be a gusher, however, and opened it over the sink to minimize the potential frustration. As soon as it settled to a reasonable pace, I tried pouring into the first tulip with great success.

The body was a hazy (to the point of opaque) peach/apricot color with some golden straw hues. Tiny pieces of peach comprised a sediment that floated and swirled around the glass. In one of the pours, it got stuck in the head and clung like lacing to the glass. The head was massive, about two and a half inches, and appeared an off-white to faint peach color itself. It didn't stick around for long though, and minimal lacing was left behind.

It smells of tart peach, some fresh peach juice, a bit of apricot, and a slurry of other, indistinguishable fruit esters. Some faint grasses also appear behind the sour nose. The taste is quite similar, beginning with fresh peach and apricot, moving into some straw and other citrus, and finishing with the tart kick of the peach. Really well done in my opinion, and very delicious.

Mouth is sour, but not painfully so. It finishes a touch dry, leaving you wanting another drink. I'm very happy to report that none of the fruit flavors appear to come from artificial sugars; if it's there, it's masked very well, as there isn't that lingering candy sensation after taking a drink.

Overall, a very well done lambic that I'll need to acquire more of. It certainly makes me want to try Upland's other flavors.

Batch 42-09, bottled 10/12/10, reviewed Feb 2012.

A: This poured a hazy light gold with fizzy white head.
S: It smelled like tart and funky oak, with sour white grape and dry champagne, and a little sweet peach and vinegar and citrus zest.
T: It tasted like very tart and sour puckering white grape and dry champagne and funky oak, with some sweet peach and vinegar and citrus zest. It had a crisp and clean and lasting sour aftertaste.
M: It was watery with lots of carbonation. Nice bubbly body.
D: This was a great lambic, but the peach character was quite subdued. The scent and taste were bold yet delicate, and the body was fitting. Not sure how this was 1.5 years ago (fresh), but I wish there was more peach at this point. Otherwise, this was a fantastic brew to sip and savor. Could age a long time, as long as you won't miss the hint of peach. Recommended.

Late 2010 batch. Served in a Cantillon tulip.

Pours a hazy orange-peach color with a thin white head that dissipates pretty quickly into not much other than a thin collar around the edges. The nose is pretty impressive right off the bat, reminding me a lot of Flaming Fury. There's a strong peach presence behind quite a bit of a lactic character and some mild funk. The taste is at the same level. Not quite as much of a funky presence as I would ultimately like, but they held onto this one for long enough, as the sourness and peach are both at levels that are highly complementary of each other right now. Feel is nice with a good pucker factor and sour finish. Drinks pretty easily; I had no problems at all finishing my portion of the bottle.

Thanks to Kyle for opening this one up! 2010 vintage.

A: Cork popped with a bit of a gush. Poured a hazy light orange/peach color. Small white fizzy head on top.

S: Nice tartness right away with some peaches and white grapes. The funk is light and in the background to the lactic tartness and peachy aroma.

T: Nice tart/sourness with the fruit underneath. Mostly peach with some faint apricot/stone fruit/lemon underneath, but the peach dominates.

M: Light to medium bodied with medium to high carbonation.

O: For its age, has held up very nicely. Lots of peach still in it, though I imagine some of it has faded. Bet it is quite good fresh, not that it isn't now, just a different beast.

Bottled 10/12/10. Thanks for sharing, Ethan!

Cork felt like it was ready to pop into orbit, so we had glasses ready and didn't lose any to gushing. About average on the gusher scale.

Pours a nice color with bubbly head. Funky and slightly sour peachy aroma. Delicate peaches are well-balanced against the tart, funky base. More sour than the previous bottle (from an earlier batch) I tried a few months back, and much improved over that one too.

Another nice lambic from Upland!

750 ml caged and corked bottle, bottled on 10/12/10, Batch 42-90. This bottle was a slow gusher when I opened it. Served in a flute, the beer pours a cloudy golden/orange color with some floaties, and about an inch carbonated white head that fizzled away quickly. There isn't much lacing. Aroma is nice, it smells like tart and sweet peaches, lemon peel, and musty, earthy funk. I think the taste is similar to the aroma. The sour/tart flavors are stronger than the sweet peach ones, but the tartness isn't overpowering at all. As the beer warms up, the peach flavors really come out more. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's refreshing and well carbonated. I think it's a good brew, I liked it. $19.79 a bottle at Liquor Barn.

I had this at the bottle share during Jackie O's bottle release this weekend. Poured into a sample glass.

Appearance: Pours an orangish golden color with a layer of white head and some nice lacing.

Smell: Tart citrus notes with a mild peach smell. Funky haylike smell in there as well.

Taste: Very smooth and funky. Crisp with a nice, mild citrus peach flavor. Quite good and refreshing.

Mouthfeel: The body is light with a tingle of carbonation and a dry finish.

Overall: This was more refreshing than the raspberry. Not quite as sour either. Really good.

750 ml bottle served in a CCB snifter. 2010 vintage.

A: Pours a hazy peach color with a thin white head forming on the pour. It recedes quickly to a thin ring, not much lace.

S: A ton of peach sweetness with a mild yogurt and underlying tartness to it. Sweet wheat and cracker malts with a little lactic sourness. Some mild grass.

T: Same as the nose. A ton of fresh peach with a gummi peach candy like sweetness to it. Sweet cracked wheat/cracker malt combo with mild lactic sourness. Some drying tartness on the finish.

M: Light bodied with some spritzy carbonation. Drying finish.

O: Definitely enjoyed this one as I'm a fan of peach. The played off the sweetness of the peach very well.

Gracias to Rempo for hooking me up on the Peach lambic! Very fun to try (I open all of my Upland lambics with my wife) and I would definitely try again. Tons of peach aroma on the front end. Quit yeast near the end, more grainy and less aromatic at the finale. Initially poured very clear and then clouded up on the second pour. Mouthfeel was average to me (I prefered the mouthfeel on the blueberry a bit more). Smell was the best attribute for me on this one and the wife liked it more once it warmed up a bit.

Bottle shared by Sean at our mini sour tasting in honor of McDiddypop's engagement.

UPLAND PEACH IS A MISSILE. If you invert the bottle and unscrew the cage, it will fly all the way to the magnetosphere.

A - What remains pours a turbid peach hue, with a good bit of with froth and effervescence still remaining.

S - The nose is sticky and overripe peach, heavily, with a big funk that seems to be deeply aligned with the natural peach character. In essence, it smells like a pile of fallen rotting peaches in a peach orchard. Sweaty and farmy notes are gleaned as well.

T - The taste is right in line with the aroma, and offers tart and fruit-juicy notes of peach, vinegar and lactic acid. I get some medicinal Brett in the background, but it is mostly obscured by fruit and acidity. The brew is very reminiscent of peach kombucha.

M - A bit thin and spritzy for my liking, and overcarbonated upon opening, obviously.

O - This is another very nice fruit-forward lambic from Upland; I've yet to be disappointed by any of their fruit Lambic. If the carbonation issues were handled, I'd hold it in even higher esteem.

review from notes of 11/11/2011.

poured into snifter.

Appearance: This beer takes on the color of a light peach skin. Head is white and fades quickly.

Smell: Funk seems a bit mild in the nose. You do get a decent amount of peach smell.

Taste: mild peach flavor and this beer does have a little bit less than the normal amount of funky notes from most Upland Lambics. The sour does not seem to be quite as intense either. It still tastes pretty good.

Mouthfeel: light bodied beer with high carbonation levels. Clean and refreshing; even eppervesant quality.

Overall: Its a nice beer and its enjoyable, but I am not a huge fan of peaches, but I would drink it again.

A - Started as a light golden color and when we got down to the yeast, it clouded things up.

S - Very funky with a bit of peach. More wild ale than peach.

T - The taste is very complex, and strange. The predominant flavor is funk and sour/tart flavors. There is a slight hint of peach on the aftertaste, but not a ton.

M/D - Mouthfeel is very even and smooth considering the extreme flavors. I would call this something I'm glad that I'm splitting with people because I wouldn't want this bottle to myself.
