750ml bottle poured into a Harpoon 100 Barrel Series glass.

A - Pours a pale orange color. Thin, sodalike, almost non-existent white head that disappears almost immediately. Lots of bubble activity here - bubbles constantly rising out of the center of the glass and forming a good coating in the bottom of the bowl of the glass. Good looking beer. Was expecting more of a pink/red tone to color, but not disappointed at all with what I am seeing.

S - Strong fresh raspbery aroma. Some tartness and funk in there as well. No doubt about this one being a raspbery beer. I could just smell tis all day long.

T - Tart and sour base. Raspberry flavor sits on top and is the dominant flavor here. Raspberry is the star here, but doesn't have the really fresh, strong tartness I was really looking for. This seems to have some sweetness in it that tames the sour/tart flavors of the raspberry. Interesting and tasty, but not up to the best raspberry lambics out there, for me...

M - Mouthfeel is the biggest disappointment for me in this beer. Mouthfeel is quite thin - practically water-like. I almost feel like I am drinking a Vitamin Water, or similar. Flavors are good and strong enough, but it is still just like flavored water. Although the carbonation makes a good showing in the glass, it is on the weak side in the mouth...not much tingle, to added body.

D - I feel like I am being overcritical of this beer. I think I had overly high expectations for this one coming in. I find myself enjoying this beer, despite the flaws, and I am having no problem getting through the whole 750ml on my own. Alcohol presence is not detected at all, flavors are smooth and refreshing on a warm day. Easily drinkable, may be a good entry fruit lambic for those not used to the more sour flavors typical of the style.

Bottled 3/7/11. Sampled alongside the seven other fruit lambics.

A: A slow gusher of a bottle that poured a deep purple brown color with a bubbly off-white head.
S: Huge raspberry filled nose. Smells solely of fresh raspberry puree.
T: Tart as hell and full of flavors of smashed raspberry preserves mixed with tart un-ripened raspberries. Great acidic/citrus bite.
M: Foamier than the other flavors and tarter than the others. Mouthfeel definitely makes you gleek.
O: Not as great as the traditional Belgian framboise but definitely a crazy acidic sour raspberry beer.
