Batch 3 bottle thanks to Michael Thorpe, poured into my Narke tulip...First of all, what the heck are all these other reviewers thinking; this beer is awesome?...Pours a stunning dark purple that is clear. Nice pink head, good retention and lacing, just looks awesome...An equally impressive aroma that absolutely nails fresh blueberries, freshly squeezed juice, blueberry muffins. A hint of tartness, wish it was a tad more, however the blueberries aren't sweet or candied so it works...The taste is really good, but somewhat of a let down after how great the aroma was. The blueberries are still there but they don't come through as much, sweet with a tart bite. Too light...Easy to crush.
The best Upland lambic so far, this is really good stuff.

Pours a beautiful reddish blue. Blueberry sours always have the most unique appearance. Nice head but unlike most Uplands this one doesn't gush.
Smells like a shitload of mouth numbing, medicinal brett and some fruity sourness that is possibly but not necessarily recognizable as blueberry. Fairly appealing actually.
Disappointing flavor...the initial burst of sour brett and mild fruitiness is pretty standard Upland, but it doesn't follow through with as much fruit as I'd like and the aftertaste is kindof off--super bretty in a kind of medicinal vitamin like way. Pretty good while in the mouth, but needs more fruit flavor and could do without the odd finish.
Nice well carbonated mouthfeel.
I like this beer, but expected better. This is the least good of the Upland lambics, and probably the least fruity. Especially disappointing since blueberry is my favorite fruit! Still a good beer but it ain't no blabaer.

This one was shared during the big Upland sour tasting amongst a large group of BAs! Served from bottle into a Boulevard tulip. Poured a purplish red with a half finger pink head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, blueberries, funk, and sour. The flavor was of sweet malt, blueberries, funk, tart, and sour. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. This was my second favorite from this tasting which included all of the Upland fruit lambics and Sour Reserve Batch 1 (which took #1). We figured no one had brought Blåbær so this would make a decent substitute. We were right on that aspect. While not as funky like most Cantillons, this one definitely carried a similar flavor profile. With this one being MUCH easier to obtain I would not think twice about pick as many of these up as possible based on my two experiences with this brew. A definite must try for anyone who calls themselves a sour fan. If you haven’t tried it before, you need to do so…

A- pours a purple color with a lighter pinkish purple short lived head. No lacing.
S- solid funk and oak hit the nose at first with notes of barnyard, horse blanket and tart fruitiness. Some lemony citric quality in the middle with oak and subtle blueberry on the finish.
T- great tart acidity hit the palate at first with lovely funk and oak playing off each other. Zesty citric quality with a touch of earthy Brett in the middle. Finishes with a hint of blueberry and lingering sour, oak and funk.
MF- bubbly champagne like mouthfeel with a light medium body and active playful carbonation.
D- very good drinkability.
Overall a great sour. I just wish the blueberry had been a little more prominate.

Vintage 2010 poured into snifter.
Appearance: dark purple / indigo bodied beer with a one finger high dark purple head.
Smell: Lots of funk upfront with a vinegar note to compliment it. Faint blueberries.
Taste: This one is all about the sour part of the beer. Did not get a huge amount of fruit off this sour, but its is there about mid palate that you get some of the blueberry fruitiness. The beer starts and finishes with sour and funk.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied beer with carbonation that is on the high end of moderate. The beer finishes dry and it also refreshing.
Overall: This is Upland sour is in the middle of the road. Blackberry and kiwi are still my favorite Upland sours!
