Wow, where to begin? Took the whole family out to dinner at the Brewpub at my request. Three kids 6 and under, my wife, In-laws, and myself.
Let's start with the good. The beer was great. I started with a pint of El Niño followed by a Starfire ale. Both delicious.
The restaurant was busy because it was dinner, but it was a Tuesday night. The food took the better part of 30 minutes. We ordered an appetizer for the kids just it case the food took too long. It never came.
The food came out to the table and they were missing one of the kids meals. Seven minutes later for the missing chicken fingers, and we all could eat. My mushroom and Swiss burger resembled a hockey puck, dry and burnt. The waitress never checked on us to see how the food was. Not until she cleared our plates and noticed that I took three bites did she inquire. They did take my burger off the bill which was nice, but no further apology was given for the other issues.
Needless to say, the only way I will be going back on our next vacation is by myself, just for the beer.

This place is a complex. You drive up to the building, and it's actually very impressive (or not) to see what they have done with this beautiful older building.
The Brewhouse itself is a lot smaller than I initially thought. Seats maybe about 115 people, with a 10 or so seat bar. We arrived and were told that there was a 15-20 minute wait for the two of us, so we headed across the hall to the little "club" type thing, and had a beer. They serve Fitger beers there as well.
I had the Oatmeal Stout which was pretty tasty, I didn't take any notes for a formal review. we were called for our table in about 3 minutes, so I felt rushed to drink my beer so we didn't have our table given away to another party. Part of the reason I drove to Duluth and to check out Fitger's was their website stated they had a Woodford Reserve ESB on tap, so that was definitely a draw. When we were finally seated, I realized they didn't have the ESB on the tap board, and I asked the server...her response was "Yah, it was on tap the last couple days, but it's not gone, they just aren't pouring it today" Okay? So I can't get one, even though I'm fairly certain it was still on tap, ready to reach my lips. That was a bit frustrating.
I ended up getting the Cherry Batch, which was really tasty, and the Witte was decent as well. Food was slightly above average, but not much more. We had a couple salads, and veggie black bean chili, which was OK, no real stand out flavor for me.
Besides the disappointment of not having a beer available (I understand when a place runs out of a beer, or a menu item in general, but to just not serve it, herm). I'm not hating on Fitger's, but I didn't leave with a warm and fuzzy feeling, and I especially know that a special trip 250 miles across the great north woods isn't worth it, solely for Fitger's.

Fitger's is certainly a place you must get to if you ever visit Duluth. They offer growlers for those who care to take their pleasure home. While they don't have a huge selection of brews they do hit up all the staples; IPA, stout, light, lager and wheat. I can't say I've had them all but what I did try was worth it. The place has a very interesting feel to it. It's dark and the mood is ver relaxed. Don't pass on Fitger's. They aslo have a solid music schedule if you're so inclided to enoy an eveing of brews and tunes.

My fiance has family in Superior so this is a must stop everytime we are up in that area. The place is a little hard to find once inside the building because the place is more of a complex with shoppes and other restaurants. It has an older, comfy feel to and you are not too close to others.
The beers made here are overall, pretty well made. I have had about 5 of their offerings and was impressed everytime. Plus the styles the brew range from a simple blonde to bourbon barrel stout. The service is decent and the food comes quickly but when I had some questions regarding the beer, they couldn't tell me much.
The menu isn't huge but you will find something you will like and you will find a beer or two to suit your needs. They offer growlers which are standard and at a pretty good price. Overall this is a place for decent food and some good beers that vary in terms of style. If you are in the area, this place is a must stop because I can't really think of anywhere else around that can compete.

This place has a very mellow feel to it... i sat upstairs along the rail and its nice to just looks down while drinking some great beer.
Another really cool thing was that the Taps were all made of custome blown glass, i thought this added some character to the place.
Walk downstairs and you can see where the brewq the beer and they also have a gift shop where yo ucan purchase clothing and grownlers of some of the beer they produce.
this place will have a beer that you like, that is guarenteed
Very cool place and i would def go back

Nice place. Waitress did not seem to know much about the beer. Food was good. Beer was great. Love the cask offering. Got a table right away with kids on a Friday night. Seemed pretty busy. Service was good and valet parking. Hoppaluja was fantastic.

I stopped in here with my wife and two children on the way to Eagle Mountain in the Boundary Waters Wilderness Area. Therefore I will say family friendly. I was most impressed by the fact that the whole "mall" establishment/facility used to be a bigger brewing facility and now has a hotel, shops and the brewpub itself. I enjoy a historical flair in a brewpub. It was a cold and dreary early June day here in Minnesota and the atmosphere provided us a wonderful respite from travel and the elements. I had a sampler with my lunch and went "off the board" with a smoked trout wrap. I love fish but rarely order it at restaurants as I am often disappointed. I must say that I was not disappointed here. The nachos accompanying it made it a lunch, but with some fancier rice, couscous or the like it was dinner quality. Back to the beer. . . I made particular note of the Apricot wheat and Witchtree ESB. It seems more and more brewers are using apricot and this beer justified that move. All of the beers were solid even if some weren't my type. They had more than came in my sampler but I was on a schedule. Great place. I would really like to get back there sooner than later.

Stopped in after a few days on the Superior Hiking Trail needing a cold drink. I was alone and was seated by a waitress at a table near, but not at the bar, despite there being open seats at the bar. I hate sitting along at a table in a bar. I soon moved myself over to the bar. This place is a little heavy with regulars, and that impacts both the amount of attention one gets from the staff and also, I don't know, seems to make you feel a little less wanted.
The waitress I think knew her stuff. It's hard to tell if they don't know what they're talking about or they think you don't know what you're talking about, but her knowledge of beer was acceptable.
At the bar, the beer was good. It had good pressure, and the bartender knew his stuff. They had a broad selection of their own beers plus '10 Bigfoot. Nothing terribly exciting on the menu for beer, but nothing to avoid either.
I had a burger and fried, very simple but it did it's job.
I walked out with a growler and a tab slightly higher than I would have wanted it to be, but that's alright.

Great place to check out in Duluth. They have some really good beers and the food was good too, nice vegetarian options. Tried a handful of beers and picked up a couple of growlers to take some too. I will certainly visit each time I'm in town now that I have a few growlers to fill.

Visited this one with my wife on a trip up north. Atmosphere- this is a fun place, lots of bumper stickers all over, friendly people and live music. Quality of the brews is pretty decent. Only the Farmhouse Ale and Starfire Pale Ale were very close to memorable, the rest were kind of ok. The apricot wheat beer was also good, although thats not really my favorite style. Service was decent, but it took a while to get in an get our food. Selection was very good, several options for food and drink, they also specialize in whiskeys. Food was good, not exceptional but beer batter fries are always good. Reasonably priced.
