From the website:
"Double IPA [ 9.5 % ABV ]
This version of our Double IPA features a deep amber color, malt forward with toasted malts to cover the elevated alcohol. Balanced with Amarillo and Cascade hops. This beer was dry hopped in the fermenter with several pounds of Cascade and Glacier leaf hops for a boost in hop presence."
Poured from the growler into an oversized snifter. Producing about an inch of off white head. Settling fairly quickly and leaving a thin cap and generous collar. Color is a deep redish copper. Glowing with deep copper when held to light.
Lace is thin with legs running the length of the glass.
Malt bomb aroma, sweet large doses of maple brown sugar, carmeslised sugars and dark fruit. Hops are sweet and pungent as well with a perfume strength aroma of hops. Citrus and pine.
Alcohol is masked wonderfully with huge malt flavor and hops bursting with juicy citrus flavors and pine bitters.
More burnt sugars here then in aroma. Grapefruit rind and long bitters into the finish as the beer drys out.
Mouthfeel is slick with medium carbonation.
This right here is a headache in a jug for sure. Drink carfully as the alcohol will sneak up on you.
