a: silver can with a pasted-on label, bright copper color, frothy eggshell head, good retention
s: pulpy hops - a touch muted but still solidly in ipa territory, grapefruit with some mild juicy tropicals, lighter malt body, pale and just a touch of toasty caramel
m: carbonation light-moderate and somewhat bubbly at first, light-medium body
t: pale malt body with a mild dosage of toasty caramel, pulpy citrus hops, not extremely vivid but tasty enough, good bitterness, clean with no off flavors
d: just fine, an average ipa in most respects, but the last reviewer seems to have reviewed a bad can
blind single pickup from College Liquors in Grand Junction, CO

Sad to report, this "award-winning" brew is one of the worst things I've ever put to my lips.
Pours a lightly amber gold with minimal head or retention. Color is alright, and I'm fine with a touch of haze in my IPAs.
But with the first whiff something seems amiss. Buttery toffee notes against a stale hop and prune-y, oxidative backdrop.
On the palate this is a huge, buttery, diacetyl laden mess. Hop flavors are swallowed whole, grapefruit and citrus notes are hiding in the background, and even the malt character is swallowed up. Redemption only comes, strangely, in the finish, which has a nice, firm bitterness that cleans it a little off the tongue.
Between the diacetyl and high alcohol problems noted in a bunch of Silverton beers, I'd say someone needs to work on their temp control...
