Golden straw hue with moderate carb bubbles clinging to glass. Minimal head. Hoppy, distinctive aroma with the tongue getting a good carb bath. Kind of a watery mouthfeel but I do like the taste of the hops used. Really bitter and astringent, kind of puckering almost, but in a strangely satisfying way. This one’s really all about the hops. The flavor isn’t overwhelming - certainly not a "hop bomb" per se - but the choice of hops suits me fairly well. Overall I’m not sure how well crafted this beer actually is - if I knew of other pales that used the same kind of hops I can see myself preferring the alternative.

Poured into a pilsner glass.

Appearance: For some reason this beer this beer foamed over as soon as i opened it. This lead me to only get about 5 ounces of actual beer. When it finally settled down it poured a hazy dark orange with two finger of fluffy tan head.

Smell: Spices and citrus fruit. Slight hops and toffee notes

Taste: More Citrus and spices. I get some cinnamon and maybe some cloves???

Mouthfeel. hangs around for a while but not to long, pretty drinkable brew.

Overall: Pretty generic pale ale, not bad, but not outstanding.

A: Slightly hazy red tinted amber. Forms a thin off white head with decent retention. Some moderate lacing.

S: Grainy malts, pale malt, light scent of pine and some carbonation in the background.

T: Starts off with some light pale malt before turning a little watery then shows some light pine characteristics and a mild bitterness.

M: Light to medium bodied. Decent carbonation. Light bitterness.

O: A slightly better than average pale. Drinkable, but there are better out there.

Light, ruddy, with flecks of particulate floating around, so either unfiltered or bottle conditioned. A definite plus for me. Head is off-white and whispy and may be poured as large as you want up to 3 or 4 fingers.

A little American citrus with some floral, British-like hop character. Malts have a toasty caramel quality that stays back and supports the hops.

Moderate bitterness and very light pine. Malt is sweet, but less significant than in the nose and stays in the way back behind the hops. I feel that this one could have had more 'flame-out' hops and not necessarily the bright ones, either.

A little dry with a moderate carbonation that still leaves a satisfying sting on the tongue after sipping.

Decent pale. I'm on an IPA kick right now so maybe I'm looking for something bigger, but the taste is a little thin in this one. If it could only be brought out a little more...

Acquired from TheManiacalOne so a big THANK YOU goes out to him!
consumed 12/30
Poured in to a pint glass

A: This beer pours a somewhat clear copper color with a lot of sediment floating around in it. A one finger of foamy, white head that recedes quickly, leaving wisps of lacing.

S: Nose is a lot of floral hops, pale malts, and a good deal of breadiness.

T: Taste starts loads of floral hops with a light, light caramel malt backbone. Some pale malts and breadiness come through the middle while still holding some floral notes. Finish has a piney hint to it.

M: Medium body, medium carbonation, crisp, clean body.

D: Goes down easily, pretty tasty, not too filling, nice kick and nice representation of style. I rather enjoyed this and would absolutely have it again.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

A - Cloudy copperry orange with a nice thick rocky head. Good retention and lacing.

S - Mild but decent aroma. Smells a bit grainy with hints of citrus and maybe some mango.

T - Not quite what I was expecting. Very bready, lots of toasty malt flavor. Moderate to high bitterness, but not a lot of flavor from the hops. Not particularly well balanced.

M - Medium to slightly full bodied. Bigger mouthfeel than I was expecting from a pale ale, but it's mostly to do with the perceived bitterness.

D - Pretty drinkable, but doesn't leave me wanting to drink it all night.

Overall a pretty average pale ale. Glad to have tried it but wouldn't seek it out.

Poured from bottle to a pint glass.

A: Golden color that is difficult to see through. Has a nice thick head that seems to stay around.

S: All citrus hops on this one with a bit of pine.

T: Very hoppy. Lots floral and citrus hop flavors up front. Some sweet bready malt comes in to balance it out.

M: Thin with the right amount of carbonation.

D: Very good.

This is a tasty beer. Lots of hops. I tried not to show bias being from Ft Wayne.

Acquired from kiltdtxn, courtesy of the Nice Cans BIF so a big "Thank You" goes out to him. Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep golden brown color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of caramelized malts, hops and some citrus.

T: The taste starts out bready with a hearty malt character followed by sweet flavors of citrus and caramel. Then there's a decent hops bitterness that comes in and provides a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

D: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer that is worth drinking for a while.

A: Pours a hazy orange with quite a few floaties. Nice tall foamy white head, very good retention and some nice thick sheets of lace.

S: Aromas of caramel, pine, and bold citrus.

T: Nice light bready malt, hints of caramel and brown sugar as well. Quite aggressively hopped for the style. Mostly citrus with light pine, and hints of earthy grassy notes in the bitter finish.

M: On the lighter side of medium, slick, bitter biting finish.

D: Good, I really like this one. A very solid pale.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into my Sam Adams pint glass. poured a slightly dark gold color with a big thick foamy white head. The huge head lasted well into drinking the beer and left some nice lacing.

The aroma has a little earthy hop smell with a little sweet malt coming through. The taste is maltier then expected with some biscuity malts and caramel along with some spicy, earthy hops coming through as well.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied with above average carbonation. Drinkability is pretty decent, it has some good flavors and is a pretty light easy drinking beer.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a Surly pint glass.

A: Heavy pour yields a fluffy, 2 finger semi-fine light cream colored head with decent retention. Beer is a cloudy grapefruit. Lacing is frothy and patchy all the way down the glass.

S: Sweet citrus, cane sugar, lychee, hops. Slight sourness is detectable. Clean and enticing on the nose.

T: Opens astringent citrus hops which dissipate slowly into the background. Spicy, piney, slightly tart, strong hop backbone but with no real other significant flavors coming off of it. Sweetens a bit as it warms possible emanating from the spice. Hop character at the finish sticks to the mouth for just a second before dissipating.

M: Light bodied, coarse, and carbonated. Watery in the mouth and with a very light finish. Leaves a bit but overall very clean.

D: Clean on the nose, palate, and in the mouth but nothing really stands out here which is why I feel its very deserving of an average grade. A good APA if you're in the area, but nothing really to go out of your way for in my opinion.

A solid pale ale from Mad Anthony. The smell is hinted with citrus and malt. As I swish it around in my mouth I do get a hint of apple for some reason, Idk if my mouth was off this day or if it was intentional. A thicker pale ale than what I would like, but still tasted good. I cooked some brats in a bottle that I had leftover from a sixer and would recommend doing so if you have a readily high access to madbrew.

Taken from notes

Dark copper color with orange hues. Huge five inch frothy head. Great head retention with minimal lacing that clings to the sides of my glass.

Citrus smell with hints of tangerines, peaches. I get some floral smells also and some pears?

Slight citrus flavors with some grapefruit, peach, and caramel like malts coming through in the end.

Medium bodied with high carbonation

Pretty decent APA.

A - Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head that quickly died to a lacing.

S - Pleasant hop profile plenty of citrus and pine. There is definitely some malt to back it up though. Quite good.

T - The hops hit first, but quickly fade away to sweet and rich malty flavor. Perfectly balanced.

M/D - Mouthfeel is not thin, but definitely not overly thick. I would call this an exceptionally drinkable pale ale.

12 oz bottle that erupts when I open it. Hate it when I caught by surprise.

Takes a while for this to calm down as I pour it. Result is a hazed, yellowish orange color with a massive cream head that slows fades a thin cap with clumps of lacing and some floaters in the glass. Aroma is zesty and citrusy, lemon and orange with some grain and malty caramel. Flavor is similar to the aroma, fairly zesty and stronger lemon than orange flavors. Very high carbonation and a slightly watery finish with lingering sweetness. Flavorful APA, but a little too artificial sweetness for my taste.
