ruby amber with a good amount of carbonation coming through. Large off white head on the pour faded down to a nice fluffy one finger high pillow
The aroma was remarkably sweet. Tons of caramel evident from the very start. Good malt profile for sure, with hints of some light flowery type fragrance way in the back. Loads of caramel sugar just rippling through my taste buds, and after it warmed a bit giving way to some of the fresh meadow like earthy tone. almost a chewy like earthiness. Very good. Nice long finish, with a somewhat dry component to it, but very sweet Creamy feeling almost towards the end, there was no lack of body on this at all.

Stopped at ABC on the way home from vacation. What a find! Apparently theres a few good breweries in this town. Impressive for it's size. Great food, and an awesome pub. I highly recomend it.
The scottish ale is a hazy brown, slightly amber. Great color. But the head is small and doesn't last long. I was dissapointed with that.
The beer smells very faint. All I could smell was sweet malts, maybe a bit of bread smell.
The taste is good. But, it's a little weak compared to my expectations of a scottish ale. It tasted like sweet malts, carmel flavor, bready. All good flavors. But I would like to taste a stronger malt profile.
I have to say this beer would have been smooth, but I think it was a bit overcarbonated. Other than the carbonation, this is a drinkable beer because it tastes very good.
I also sampled a beer called rye hopper from French Broad Brewing Co. Asheville's got something good going on. If your near Asheville Pizza and Brewing Co., get there. Great pizza. Great Beer.

Had this at the brewpub the other night. Came out a reddish brown with a small off-white head on top. Left some good sip rings, and little sticky lace. Pancakes, toffee, syrup, and a light roasted malt quality in the nose. This smells pretty good.
Body is smooth with a tough of carbonation on the tongue. Good sweet malts right away. Flavors of toffee and mild molasses. Nutty finish. I thought I was ordering a Scottish Ale as this is called "Scottish", but apparently, this is a Brown Ale. I like it.

Pours a copper/brown color, with a nice white 2cm head. There was a little bit of lacing. This one looked like I would expect from a Scottish Ale. The smell wasn't too strong, just a little bit of earthiness, but mostly the smell of sweet malts, like medium crystal. The taste was very similar to the smell, just some lighly sweet malts, a little bit of breadiness, a tiny note of chocolate, or darker roasted malts. I would've liked to see a little bit more of some peated or smoked malts, or maybe a little bit more depth with some more chocolate or roasted barley tastes. But this was was very smooth and nice. A little chewy, but not harsh at all. It enjoyed drinking this beer, it wasn't too big, and didn't hit me too hard. I would say its another nice beer to be had at the ABC.
