This review will be completely out of order from the rest of the transcribed notes that constitute the field reports from WHF II & III, but circumstances dictated that I post my review before they move.
Todd at The Abbey was the one who told us about Red Light, Red Light and frankly, without his input, we would have blown past without a second glance. It was up a set of stairs with three neons in the window on the second floor and a simple wood and glass door on which was stenciled the word "BEER". Since it was so seemingly generic, I anticipated having one of those white cans with the solid black lettering, such as Otto drank in "Repo Man".
Ascending the steps, we reached the landing and without a compass and night goggles, we were lost. Dark? Stygian? Closed? Intruders, stay out! Feeling my way along, I managed to find the sole bathroom on the right side and TheChauffeur1 latched onto the doorway to The Stairway to Heaven (and Hell) - an unfinished concrete stairwell all of the way aft, past the short bar that ran down the left wall. The music (Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Black Flag, Roy Orbison) was excellent and as my eyes adjusted, I spotted the tile bar off to the left. Suddenly, Teege, the bartender popped up like a Dracula jack-in-thebox! Yeeessss?, he asked. This was NOT a place for the sun 'n' surf crowd.
Peering into the darkness, I sussed out about eight (8) taps, but they were all things from up north. I then refocused on the extensive (between 75 and 90) bottle collection which actually required a three-ring binder to enumerate. I cannot recall what I had, but I "helped" Greg with a bomber of Lagunitas Lucky 13, then I called Lagunitas to tell them about their product. Cell phones worked up there. Teege introduced us to many of the regulars and even put the lights up slightly so that I could have a better look around. There was a jet-black rubber Devil Duck on the bar that only reinforced the idea that this might be a circle in Hades. A small stage sat in the far left corner at the front of the building. The place had an unfinished, rustic look, with exposed joists and beams everywhere.
Where were we? Somebody's basement? San Francisco? All of the above? Hit it, baby! Do you dig Delilah's in CHI? Come here. Otherwise, stay FAR away. That, or come here, but know that it is not for the faint of heart.
Addendum: Upon (finally) reaching the place where our CouchSurfing host was attending a going-away party, we met another of the Redlight x 2 staff - a tall, lanky young lady with jet-black hair and some great ink on her arms. It would have been wild had we gotten to RL x 2 earlier, while she was working, then randomly met her at a party. Sometimes, the Fates do not weave quickly enough.

This is fantastic place for craft beer. I'm not a big fan of loud environments when I'm trying to hang out with friends, but for the selection they have I'm willing to sacrifice. The service is good, I gave it a 3 only because they can't help that the place is always packed and can only do so much for each customer. I imagine it would be amazing when not so crowded. It's a nice building, the old Carrier dealer from way back. I really like how they have a cooler full of aged beers, though I think the prices on some of those are a bit high. I really like the set up inside. The selection, again, is just ridiculous compared to any other bar in the area. There's so much to choose from on tap and in bottles/cans. They rotate regularly as well, so you can guarantee that you can go often and still have plenty of options to choose from. Moving out to that area soon, so I'll probably go a lot more often and probably enjoy it a lot more since I'll be able to go on days where it's no so busy/crowded. Definitely worth a visit and then some.

Best place in Orlando, or Central Florida for that matter, to get great craft beer. They have approximately 30 beers on tap, two of which are cask, and the list changes fairly often. Their bottle list is quite extensive and they have a couple vintage coolers in the back with some bottles at least several years old. Highly recommended.

Finally checked this place on Friday night. The only real complaint is the parking, which can be very difficult on a Friday and Saturday night. The place was packed but we were able to grab a table. Our bartender was very good, even with recommendations and the beers were reasonably priced. I was surprised to see that they offered a fairly large selection of beers aged up to 5 or so years as well as 2 different cask beers. the aged beers were expensive but everything else, like I said, was reasonably priced. We stumbled on a 7venth Sun tap takeover, which was a nice surprise.

I've visited Redlight numerous times at both its old and new location. The new location is much much better than the last location. The bar has plenty of seating and the space itself is very open. I do wish they had more seating, but I think that they are limited as to how many seats they can have per city code. Parking is easy during the week, but can be tough to park during Friday & Saturday evening. The beer selection is always great, they tend to have on tap pretty much any style that you like and they do have a large selection of bottles available. The staff has been nothing but AWESOME since I have started going there. Redlight is a place to go to if you are visiting Orlando or are passing by.

Went here for the first time with a buddy last month. Apparently I missed out on their original location and the new, current site is very nice. Good sized with a big bar filling the middle and various space around the perimeter including a few tables but there is also an upstairs that didn;t seem to be open for business yet. It's a sort of dark, busy place with some peripheral chairs and seating arrangements beyond the bar. Bar tenders seemed pretty attentive, responsive and knowledgeable about the beers. Free tastes were not a problem. The selection was solidly a craft beer lover's idea of a good night out with numerous big craft brewers along with some more local, smaller ones like Cigar City. Pricing was very friendly for a quality beer line up like this. No food, but there were a few local places you could easily walk to if in need of solid sustenance. I thought the staff was pretty friendly for a busy place and I have no complaints. I've seen better selections but I also was pretty content with what they had, and i expect the selection changes constantly so it's just a matter of when you hit it and what you're looking for. I definitely will return and can recommend this place to any beer lover.

I was south of Orlando on business, so decided to make the journey to Redlight Redlight based on the reviews. This joint is worth the accolades bestowed upon it. Great tap selection, great bottle list which is fairly up to date, knowledgeable bar tenders, decent vibe, and great food card outside. There were four Cigar City taps on, plus a good selection of various styles from outside of FL, including a lambic tap. Can't argue with that! Pricing isn't bad, either. Definitely worth checking out, even with a short drive.

Went there on a tuesday night and was very impressed by the selection. Very knowledgable bartenders willing to challange people to try new things. This one girl wanted a blue moon and the bartended got her to drink a St. Louis Gueze and she loved it! Great example of beer advocacy!
They had a randall with Cigar City Porter flowing though coffee beans and a great looking vintage list, and a great glassware collection.
Would love to visit again, just don't ever want to set foot in Orlando without being drunk first.

This place is easily the best beer bar in town! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Laid back atmosphere. Great selection of Drafts, most of them are rotating daily. You can usually find a good Cigar City selection on tap. There is also a big Bottle list, and a nice Vintage list as well. They are beer and wine only, no food served but there are a variety of food trucks on site most nights. The worst part about it is that I don't live closer! I'd recommend stopping in for a beer if you are in Orlando.
