An amzing beer bar disguised as a urban family Pizzeria.

Some of the best pizza in K.C. as well as a good buffet/salad bar. But the star is the beer selection. Even though the actual bar is small and there can be a lot of local family's in around dinner or lunch (you will notice mom or dad usually have a nice pour along side them) they have a good local and varying selction of craft beer. They always seem to sneak in some quailty goods, I have had KBS on tap as well as a couple Bell's Hopslams when everyone else in town was out. Good draft selection and Great bottle selection.

If your in K.C. its one of the top 3 beer bars in town (along with Beer Kitchen and the Foundary) and while your at it go across the street to 75th street Brewery for some good local beer!

Stopped by on an early Monday evening last week. Lots of families, I don't know if it they have some sort of Family Night Special? They have a good quality tap and bottle list. The printed menu of bottles is divided by styles. They let you build flights of 5 oz samples which is pretty cool. They had run out of Evil Twin Imperial Stout which was a bummer. I don't see that brewery where I live. They had a Free State seasonal on tap. Plus, some other local brews. The pizza is good but not great. Same could be said of the cheese bread. Prices are typical for craft beer in KC and the Midwest. The service was pretty good, too. They let my brother-in-law redeem a 5 year old gift certificate - that was amazing! This is a nice place to find good beer and good pizza under one roof. Certainly worth a visit.

Went to Waldo Pizza for lunch on a Sunday while visiting a friend in Kansas City.

It's in what appears to be a hipster-ey neighborhood, pretty far from anything else in Kansas City. The surrounding block has a few other bars and shops in what almost looks like the main street of a very small town.

The inside looks exactly like it should - part dive bar, part pizza restaurant, and part eclectic eatery with unique touches. Overall very laid back. We sat in a big comfy booth.

The beer selection is very good. Twenty on tap, with lots of locals, and a large bottle selection. They do have Bud Light, but that's the only BMC I saw on tap. Schlafly, Free State, Boulevard, New Holland, Tallgrass, Avery, Green Flash and more on tap.

The pizza was delicious. Perfect honey wheat crust. We got the spicy red sauce, which had a nice little zing. The meatballs were amazing - like an italian grandma would make. They also had a series of housemade ice cream, using milk from a local dairy. I tried one made with Schlafly Pumpkin Ale and pecans. It was fantastic.

Service was really top notch. Our waitress was informative and friendly without being overbearing. She had plenty of thoughtful suggestions when I asked for recommendations (and she was spot-on about the meatballs).

If this place was in Atlanta I would be a regular.

Stopped by here on a business trip to Kansas City and was very impressed with the beer choices in this seemingly 'regular' looking pizzeria. Not much fanciness to it inside or out. My waiter was very attentive without being obnoxious and the pizza was very very tasty. On to the beer. Great selection of bottles and on my visit had some really great drafts, and was able to get a flight which included Founders KBS and a couple other high ABV brews with no upcharge in price. Definately worth checking out.

Great pizza! My wife and I finally got to Waldo despite having lived in the area for a year. We took the kids with us and couldn't resist ordering one "kid pizza" and one "adult pizza." Both were fantastic.

The service and atmosphere were good, absolutely nothing wrong with them, but I didn't rate higher just because I have been some places that blew me away. The pizza here was the highlight.

The beer selection was good but not great. They had plenty on tap to choose from and a few that we hadn't yet tried. We each had a pint and then did a sampler of 4 small pours of some other beers. A very enjoyable experience. The only thing that will keep us from going here regularly is the fact that we are moving in about a month.

Waldo Pizza is one of those great little places that just happens to have one of the best beer selections in the area.

The atmosphere is nothing special, but it's not a total dump either. It's a well-worn, lived in shop with a group of waitstaff that is tattooed and weirdly dressed. That said, it's a great spot for families to come. The pizza is very good and fresh. Good quality ingredients, but not 'gourmet' by any means.

The service is always prompt and attentive. It's the kind of place that when your kid spills some water, they're there with a towel before you even look up. Sometimes, you do get the flustered newbie, but the rest of the waitstaff is always there to pitch in some help.

The beer selection is deceptively good. The tap room is always rotating through various special editions, limiteds and just great offerings. One night they had both 2010 GI Bourbon County Brand Stout and a one year old (2009) keg of KBS available along with Backwoods Bastard. The draft selections change quite often, so don't expect to go there and get anything specific on draft. The staff is knowledgable enough about the beer, and the bartenders can usually fill in the gaps.

The bottle list is also pretty extensive with a few gems to go along with the more regular offerings.

Waldo Pizza is a great spot for the beer lover.

Did a lunch here St. Patrick's Day

The vibe of this place wasn't bad, a bit neighborhood restaurant/shabby chic, wouldn't make me think beer Valhalla though

All beers were in great shape

Friendly and attentive service

Great and eclectic choice of sixteen taps & a bottle selection that had some fairly rare stuff (Boulevard BBQ & Brett Saison ). I'm sure I could always find some new or just hard to find here

Did the buffet, it was very tasty. Next time I will do Ala carte, damn tasty pizza

Beer & food were reasonably priced, a great stop in a pretty neat looking/fun KC neighborhood

Nothing outwardly special about the atmosphere or decor, yet it was quiet and the place just felt comfortable. A small bar, yet its location away from the main traffic of the restaurant is nice. The bartender Elliott (BA baconisaveggie) is not only superbly knowledgeable as a certified cicerone, but was very friendly and responsive to boot. The selection of 16 or so drafts was somewhat lackluster, but the bottle selection makes up for it if nothing catches your fancy. The pizza was some of the best that I've had. A must if you're in the area.

Visiting Overland Park, Kansas over the holidays and a friend had an internet coupon for Waldo Pizza. When I went to their website, I found it was a beer bar too. ( My lucky day )
What a place!

The pizza was fabulous and the beer selection was outstanding. I had Bear Republic 'Hop Rod Rye' and Sierra Nevada 'Celebration Ale' on tap
( first time for either, for me ) and I noticed an amazing bottle selection, including some imports I had never heard of.

Another great Pizza & Beer Place;
Be sure to check it out when in Kansas.

Waldo Pizza has great pizza and even better beer. It has one of the best selections of good beer at any bar in town.

One half of the building is a restaurant and the other half is a bar, but it's a good place to go to eat or drink.

The beers rotate often, about once a month, I think. You'll see some good stuff on-tap from abroad and from microbrews in the states. There's a good selection of bottles as well.

The service is usually excellent. It's family-friendly, but lots of young singles go there too.
