This is a midsized macro distribution joint with a smattering of good stuff, making a half hearted attempt at being a BA worthy outfit. Tons of cases of macros fill the center of the store. They do offer a small shelving area stocked with some of the usual suspects, Brooklyn, Unibrew, Chimay,Magic hat, Mendicino, DFH (1 VARIETY), Rogue (1), Big Foot Ale, 2 types of Blue Point in growlers, You will be able to score some drinkable suds, just watch out for the some of the selections that looked moderately dusty. So so place, decent in a pinch.

I travel to Long Island a couple times a year and was looking for a place to get some goods to take back to PA. Greywulfken was kind enough to tip me off to this little gem of a beer store. Located in a small strip mall, Beer City is quite unassuming and inconspicuous. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by several friendly staff. A good bit of the store is comprised of stacks of cases and about a dozen doors to cold beer access. The rest of the store is made up of shelves of crafts and a dozen or so craft beers on tap (I am presuming for growlers). The craft bottle selection was excellent. I picked up some Union Jack, Biscotti Break, Sixpoint Global WArmer, Maine Zoe, and Noel de Calabaza(2012 issue). There were a lot of Belgians as well and prices were reasonable. The single bottle selection was a bit disorganized but if you took the time to look around, the gems can be had. A cool place with good staff and great selection. I will return

Atmosphere: the biggest part is dedicated to mass produced beer, naturally, but the craft section is the manager's passion, so it has grown over time and craft beers are quite well-represented.
Quality: the craft beer section is jam-packed into a corner just past the register; craft beer end-caps adorn the area; there is a cooler of craft miscellany, several doors of craft alongside the BMC beers, and a growler station with like 10-12 taps - the growler selection is constantly turning over
Service: Real good guys for talking to - all seem to really dig the beer; the manager is very on-top of beer happenings and makes efforts to bring new and interesting beer into his store.
Selection: great selection across the boards, products are turned over, beers kept fresh; seems like most of the newly-released stuff finds its way here, even if in very limited quantities.
Price: for Long Island? Reasonable.

I moved out of New York several years ago and I remember this place from when my dad would take me to pick up his 30 packs of Budweiser. The first time in since was a year ago, and now I make it a point to stop every time I'm in town. I was in this past weekend and had another awesome experience! growler fills, mix a six, rare bottles, super reasonable prices, very knowledgeable staff & amazingly helpful! definitely worth a stop, if you don't see what you want, ask. They do special draft releases with local breweries and suggested some great beer centric restaurants to check out. Gave the atmosphere a 4 because it's a warehouse style beer distributor but the draft system seems amazingly clean and I've never had a problem with "bad" beer.

My first beer store in NY. Coming as an outsider it was a bit of an experience.
A - This is a small place. Not it the cleanest part of town. Traffic getting there on a Saturday was more difficult that it should have been. It's nestled away in the corner of a small shopping strip. Large towering displays of macro beers are impressive (from a purely aesthetic viewpoint) On the day I went there was a local brewer, Great South Bay, giving small samples of their wares. And if you liked the sample they had their beer as well as several others available in growlers. A nice touch, and makes distribution easier for small brewers trying to grow.
Quality/Selection - I didn't look at the macro beers or that much of what they had in the fridges, but in that regard selection was adequate. As for imports and micros, they had a nice corner with up to say...100 different beers. That's a rough guess. I didn't count. I was able to find some interesting domestics, and some lovely Belgians that are not easy to come by everywhere.
Service - OK. I had a few people ask if I needed help. No one was rude a one or two people were happy to answer questions.
Price - Can't say. The Belgians were quite pricey, but a sixer of most of the domestics ran close to $8.

I was referred to Beer City by a buddy and decided to drive over and see what they had. As we all know it's diffcult to find that one place that has everything you're looking for for a decent price. Well I have to say that this place was pretty decent. It had a very nice selection and the two times that I have gone there staff have taken the time to discuss like and dislikes and point out possible different beers to try. Prices were ok and a nise selection of growlers was also available, All in all well worth the drive. Enjoy!!!

This is my go to place for beer. They have a good selection all the time. My last trip I picked up some Founders Curmuddgeon (not easy to get out here), and Southern Tier Creme Brulee stout. I noticed that their growler station had Avery Maharaja (though it was about $25), and some other really cool stuff.
They also had someone from Weyerbacher a couple of days ago promoting their pumpkin ale and other stuff.
Prices are fair, and I can always find something nice either down the aisle or in the craft beer nook. When they have the mixed 6 pack rack I am really happy.

I have not been to this store in awhile but after visiting today(friday) ill be back on monday for 30% of growler fills!! This place is huge. While there are floor to ceiling quite creative displays of macros, there are hundreds of craft and micros. They have a six line grolwer fill station, that features long islands newest breweries - Long Ireland and Greenport Harbor. The staff was very helpful. I was able to speak with one of tha managers for awhile about different IPA's they were featuring for an upcoming HOP-HEAD tasting. I was able to score some Jolly pumpkin/Nogne collaboration and Ithaca Le Bleu. Plus the prices are very reasonable - Avery $8.99 6pk, Troegs Nugg Nectar 22oz-$4.99. Overall this place was a great place to shop at. Deffinitly worth a trip to check it out - anyone can find something great here!

This place is located right off the main drag of Deer Park Avenue. The inside is a non-descript warehouse, but you're not here for the atmosphere, are you? There's an alcove of microbrews to the left that is a pretty substantial offering. They also let you mix and match sixers, which is always a nice thing. The refrigerated selection is not as in depth as the shelves, but can still stand on its own. The guy working there was helpful but not pushy. Overall this is a fine place to stop by if you're in the area.

I saw (and went) to this place on my way to pick up pool supplies and I'm glad I stopped in.
Nice selection of micro-brewed beer set away from the BMC crowd.
Very helpful staff and they let you mix sixers, 12 packs and cases with whatever you want.I like when a beer store lets you buy as many types and amount of beer as you want.
Being a NY beer store, they have the entire Southern Tier, Southampton and Blue Point line-ups and I'm working my way through them. They also have the best price ($8.99) I've found a bottle of Brooklyn Local One for.
Real good beer store!
