Growler fill from the brewery poured into a Tulip glass.
A: Deep amber/ruby opaque color. Pure white head of 2 finger head, not very dense though. Good retention and lacing.
Smell: Floral, piney, some tropical fruits, mango/pineapple/orange/lemon zest.
Taste: Doesn't quite live up to the aroma. A little malty. Not very bitter or dry.
Mouthfeel: Clean and crisp with moderate carbonation, a tad sticky on the finish, not very dry or wet but easy to drink.
Overall: Solid APA from a local brewery. I'd have this again, although they had a better offering (Camel Toe) at the brewery that wasn't available in growlers. I'm satisfied polishing off this growler with my pizza - above average brew. Don't seek it out but give it a try if you're there.

surprised to see this rated so low here. i thought it was one of the best straight up american pales i had on my chicago trip, and that includes a fair few from some reputable brewers. this is super good. radiant golden, totally clear, and well carbonation. smells citrusy all the way, orange peel and fresh lemon juice, its almost tangy from that, even a touch of acidity there too. what i like here, and i think this is the point of distinction for this beer, is that most pales either have no grain flavor at all, totally dropped out on purpose to make room for hops, or its almost over balanced by crystal malts too rich for whatever the brewers are trying to accomplish. this beer has some grain flavor, dry cereals, fresh and summer, but never sweet and never so heavy or caramely that it overwhelms the hops, which are well dosed but delicate in flavor. i think that kind of balance speaks volumes of the folks responsible for the recipe and the execution, and thats what we liked most about it. easy drinking as they come, i would buy this if it were packaged...

On tap at Piece. Looks fine for an APA. Smell is awesome fruity hops, but set me up for the fail. On taste, it just doesn't deliver. Some bitterness I guess, but poor balance and no lingering taste. Sub par APA for me
