Love both of Goose's brewpubs, excellent food at both. Lot's of good brews available only on site. Did the brewery tour as part of a private event that included food and drinks once, tour guide was informative without boring people and had a good sense of humor. Not the best place to catch sports on TV, but don't think thats why you would go here.

Located in Lincoln Park, the brewery has been around since 1988, one of the earliest craft breweries in the USA. There had been some recent Internet chatter about the lease being up and the brewpub closing after 25 years, but they apparently have arrived at an agreement and the place is safe for the next 10 years. Whew! I wandered into the venerable old place to find it virtually unchanged from my many visits over 15 years ago. Their old event room now had a door with glass inserts sporting the Siebel Institute logo, complete with brewing students busy at study within. When I arrived it was just after 11 AM and the pub was not busy yet, so I was able to snag a high table in the bar proper. The bar is built as a central rectangle with four sides to sit at and be served. Dark old woods with many years of wear dominate the place giving it a well-used and comfortable feel, like coming back home after a long absence.
My server, Cristina, was very up-beat and helpful during my stay. Apparently all the servers need to be Cicerones, so she was very knowledgeable about her beer styles and pairs. I ordered a sampler of 4 beers from the extensive list of beers split between pub exclusives and regular Goose Island beers--nearly 30 to choose from! The place mat they bring the beers out on has a lot of details on how to taste beers--very slick. I followed this with another sampler and a fine bowl of mussels in a Matilda and cream broth. Since I ordered all the craziest beers they had on tap (Double IPA, smoked beer, sour saison) the servers had a little pow-wow trying to place them in the best order for me to drink them. I appreciate the forethought and effort that they put into that! Overall the beers were very good. One of the strangest was a beer made with peat smoked apples that tasted like a combination of beer, smoky peated scotch and calvados. Worth a try, but I wouldn't want a whole pint of it! I was pleased with my trip back to Goose Island. They have maintained their original feel, but with expanded selection and improved education of their servers. A fine hold-over from the first wave of brewpubs.

Been here a couple of times, very good place. Was in the first Thursday of the month when there were a bunch of beer geeks in the party like room exchanging tastings of their home brews. We sat at the bar so we old watch the football game. Good crowd at the bar. Always have a great selection of on premise brewed beers as well as the mainstream Goose beers. Food was good. Wait staff very attentive and engaging. Willing to stop and chat beer and offer a quick taste before deciding.
Good place, great selection of brews.

I've been here twice: once for dinner and beers a couple years ago, and then also to pick up my BCBS snifters during one of their releases.
The Atmosphere inside is nice. It's a comfortable place with one level of seating. It strikes me as your standard brewpub atmosphere.
The Quality was great, both for the beer and the food.
The Service was also also great. The waitstaff was friendly and prompt, and the guy I dealt with to pick up my glasses was very helpful.
The Selection is always fantastic. They have most of their regular lineup, seasonals, and then plenty of draft-only offerings. This is where they often have a special draft-only release on top of their normal draft-only offerings. They'll tap BCBS occasionally throughout the year as well. Furthermore, this is the place to go for Goose Island glassware. They had 10-12 different glasses available when I stopped in.
Their food is always fantastic. They have a good selection of stuff on their menu which is mostly American-style bar food, but it's very good. It's very similar to the Wrigleyville location. I can't remember if they share the same menu, but there are definitely commonalities.
I slightly prefer the Clybourn location simply due to the quality of the beer selection being slightly better than the Wrigleyville location.

Walked in to thr front half empty but the bar full. sat at the bar and watched the USA Mexico soccer game. Nice buzz in the place. ordered a nice black beer. Everyone seemed welcomed.
food- ordered soup (daily special which I was told was tomoato....) It was a cold tomato with cucumber. More or less it was nasty.
Service was ok. took a while to order food....

Went here while taking a course at the nearby Siebel Institute. I loved the decor. Lots of dark wood, brass and cool pictures. The beer menu was huge. Too much to choose from. Had a Matilda and loved it. The Chedder Burger was outstanding. I wish I could have stayed longer in Chicago so I could hang out here more often.

Excellent place to have a drink, and the food is great. Extensive beer menu, with plenty of beers you can only get on tap here.
The place is always busy, and there's a wide range of patrons, so you'll never feel out of place. The food menu has some great items, and their appetizer range is extremely tasty. Highly recommended for brewpub fans, and a must-visit for anyone who likes at least one Goose Island beer!

It’s hard to be shopping in the area and NOT stop here. The brew pubs were not included in the sale of Goose Island, and they are still wonderful. Lots of events. Lots of one off beers. Hit this place up for lunch. A good rule of thumb is that any event they host is absolutely worth attending.

Goose Island restaurant/brewery has long been one of our favorite places. The beer selection is great - the classic Goose Island brews plus a rotation of new beers every month. I always enjoy trying to new brews.
We have taken our kids here a number of times, although I would say it's adequate with a kids menu. The food is fine but not great, but we go more for the atmosphere and the beer.

One of the bigger beer spots in Chicago with a huge bar and restaurant area. The vibe is a somewhat upscale pub feel.
A good selection on tap in terms of quantity. Was disappointed to see nothing barrel aged on tap and the cask options were also not all that interesting when I visited.
As far as food goes, only had the onion rings and found them to be below average.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood, especially given that it is across the street from a great Binny's.
