Rescousse is an Altbier that celebrates life in all its diversity. The forward malt invokes dark toasted bread, accompanied by a hoppy finish that dances on the tongue with nutty exuberance.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. Thanks to Phyl21ca for this bottle.
Appearance - Brown body with garnet hues. Off white head with a bit of lace.
Smell - Earthy malts and some deep burnt caramel. Smells kinda like a doppelbock, but less chocolatey.
Taste - Nice malt flavor with a surprising hop flavor in front. Earthy malts, like the smell. Not sweet, which surprises me. It has a toffee flavor to it, though. The finish is slightly bitter and lightens the beer. Good mix of flavor.
Mouthfeel - The hops keep it light tasting. Good carbonation and a medium body that seems a bit lighter than it is, in a good way.
Overall - I've never had an altbier before, but it tastes pretty good. Flavorful. Gets the most out of the malt flavor without upping the ABV. Very nice.

Appearance - Pours a clear redish brown 1.5 fingers head. head dies down quickly leaving a film overtop being replenished by some great carbonation.
Aroma - Very sweet, Caramel, Candy, malts, Some light hop in the backround. The reason for the low rating is because the smell doesnt stand out. its just not very strong.
Taste - Caramel, Grainy malt, Very light pine hops in the background followed by a peppery finish.
Feel - Medium bodied and sticky, prickly carbonation.
Overall - This is a good beer not the best ive ever tasted and definitely not the best from DDC but its a decent beer and I'd enjoy it again.

Brought back from Montreal and shared with rudzud.
Light fizzy head disappears quickly, very little lacing, clear auburn brown color.
Nose brings sweet candy, toffee candy and reddish candy, malt, little nutty note and smoke, light grassy hop and little fruity note, earthy too.
Taste brings more sweet malt, candy, reddish candy, toffee and nutty notes, light smoky like note. Some grassy earthy spicy hops, weird earthy forest floor like with mild spicy note, toasty and doughy too. Finish is fair bitter, light lingering sweet malts and toffee nutty flavours, lingering earthy hops.
Mouth is med bod, decent carb, little sticky feel.
Overall meh.

Thanks to JLindros for sharing. Picked this up in Montreal.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice crystal clear amber hue with a thin wispy head that fades to a thin halo.
S - Aromas of smoke and caramel malts, light toasty malts. Not much hops.
T - Taste is similar to the nose, fair amount of roast and old caramel malts and hops. Almost stale cardboard.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, medium body.
O - Overall this beer was just okay. A bit too roasty and caramel for my tastes.

Quite good but not as spectacular as other beers from this brewery (Disco Soleil, Rose d'Hisbiscus, Moralité). Still, this is a decent altbier.
