Pours a vibrant raspberry red. Very pretty. White head.
Aroma: sour raspberries and some funk. Wheat with a touch of spice.
Taste: tart raspberries with lemon acidity and a hint of vinegar. Pretty funky. Wheat with a little spice.
Mouthfeel: tart and sour. Light bodied with a nice amount of carbonation. Ends really clean.
Overall, this beer rocks. Incredibly drinkable and tasty. Thanks Andrew for sharing this treat. Wow.

Poured into a goblet, bottled in 05/2013.
A: Bright garnet red, lots of micro carbonation bubbles forming on the bottom edge of the glass, bright pink head that dies quickly, clear with bubbles popping on the surface...
S: Big nose of raspberries, tart, fresh, slightly funky, not overly sweet but some hints of it.
T: Starts off very tart on the front, like a citric/lemon tartness, as you follow through, hints of the underlying wheat body, but you quickly get into the finish which is a funky sourness. Very interesting as the fruit/raspberry flavour is very subdued compared to the nose, as the tart/sourness and mineral crispness really pop to the front, but you are left with a light crisp raspberry aftertaste.... not really any sweetness or bitterness.
M: Med-high carbonation, crisp, mineral, refreshing, light body.
O: Not really familiar with Berliner Weissbier's, but judging by the style description, this is a very nice example of a flavoured variety where the colour and smell really show off the beer, but the berry flavour then takes a back seat to the sour wheat beer characteristics.... a perfect summer sipper, not too sour but enough so to be refreshing, and as with all DDC, very well made. Not a beer you're expecting when you crack the bottle, but leaves you wishing you got more than just 1 four pack for the entire summer! Definitely worth seeking out....

Big thanks goes out to oldp0rt for sending this one as an extra in a semi-recent trade! Shared this one on the One Year Anniversary of My Accident/Surgery! Served from bottle into a Mikkeller taster flute. Poured a deep ruby red with a half finger pink head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, raspberry, fruit, funk, earth, and tart. The flavor was of sweet malt, raspberry, strawberry, funk, subtle earth, tart, and sour. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. If I am honest I have to say that this was one of the best Berliners that I’ve had to-date. The raspberry boomed through on each sip and kept me begging for more. The tart and sour aspect worked really well with the fruity sweetness. This made for a unique and down-right tasty combination if I am honest. A really well done brew that I’m glad I got to experience!

Huge thank you to Hoppypocket, Jayhoop and Unibrou4ever for getting this to me. Probably my favourite (and very uncommon) style from an amazing brewery. Huge expections here!!
Appearance. Pours a hazy, deep red with a slight orange tint and half a finger of bubbly pink head.
Smell. Fresh ripe raspberries!! Not much else going on, but if I didn't know this was beer I'd swear I was smelling a glass of raspberry puree.
Taste. Sour fresh raspberries and lemon juice. There's a little bit of wheat there and maybe some very slight mineral flavours, but the real raspberry and Berliner sourness are pretty amazing. No alcohol whatsoever. Couldn't imagine a fruited Berliner Weiss tasting better than this!
Mouthfeel. Ligight+ body with medium+ carbonation.
Overall. Just a fantasic beer. I could drink this every week and probably never get tired of it. Lived up to my expectation and then some. So glad that I have a couple more to savour of a style I don't get nearly enough of!!

Bottle: Poured a light pinkish color beer with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of tart raspberries with some light brett notes. Taste is also a mix between some tart notes with fresh raspberries and light residual sugar. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed with right mix between fresh raspberries, tart and funky notes. I wish this would be available on a more regular basis.

Reviewing the Solstice D'ete from Brasserie Dieu Du Ciel out of Montreal in Canada.
Score: 93
Bottled in August of 2012. Served in a Surly Darkness snifter and enjoyed on 10/16/12.
Appearance: Pours a pink Rose color with a thin bubbly ring around the glass that totally settles. Some oily legs, but minimal lacing and retention. The color of this beer is absolutely gorgeous! 4.5/5
Smell: Sweet and slightly tart "freeze-dried strawberries" (more specifically, this stuff), fresh and slightly floral puréed raspberries, and a light amount of lemon too. Very inviting! 4.25/5
Taste: More tart than the nose. Absent is most of the strawberry from the nose, but in its place is a greater presence of tart raspberries and freshly squeezed lemon. The flavor towards the finish reminds me of a less sour raspberry warhead candy. Mild pucker at first that grows slightly as the beer warms. 4.25/5
Mouthfeel: Light bodied, medium carbonation with tons of tart citrus zest on the tongue. Sweet and sour. 4.5/5
Overall: A delicious Berliner weiss that reminds me of a sweeter, less tart framboise.
Recommendation: Seek this one out; it's quite excellent.
Pairings: Pretzels.
Cost: $5 for a 12 oz bottle.

Thanks Denise!
Deep ruby red body, fizzy pink head up top. Kinda visually boring otherwise, but the aroma more than makes up for this pitfall. Pungent raspberries fill my nose and don't let go.
Deliciously fruity; tastes like a mouthful of fresh raspberries. Lactic. Mildly tart. Intensely fruited yet not sweet at all; almost bitter in the middle. Perfectly carbonated too.
This is excellent, highly recommend!
