341ml bottle, batch #9, whatever that means. No idea on date, only batch number on right side of the label.

Pours quite thick black with a large three-finger plus brown head, foamy and rocky, leaves a clumpy ring of lacing and retains a good cap that eventually reduces to a ring and wispy covering.

Aroma is rich dark chocolate, cocoa, and coffee, roasted malts, some vanilla. Powerful and wonderful smelling beer.

First sip is an OMG moment if you are a chocolate lover, wow. Massive amounts of premium dark chocolate, cocoa, some coffee, and to a lesser degree vanilla and roasted malts. Cocoa definitely overpowers the nose and flavor, but that's not a bad thing at all, not at all. Delicious.

Mouthfeel is rich, smooth, velvety, low carbonation, just about perfect. Is this an oatmeal stout? Sure feels like it...

This drinks so incredibly smoothly, tastes and smells so incredibly good, I want it to last forever but it's going down so very, very fast. It's a damned shame it's $5.50 a bottle as I'd buy this by the six on a regular basis. Drinkability takes a hit due to the high price.

Perhaps the best non-Imperial Stout I've ever had. No, this is definitely the best non-Imperial Stout I've ever had, by far.

Another phenomenal, world-class beer from Dieu du Ciel.

Cheers.

Poured into a Due South Brewing Co. snifter. Label notches on 4 and 5.

A- Pours a completely opaque black color with a 3/4 inch light brown head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a small patch of surface foam. Resilient lacing leaves a thick solid ring behind on the glass.

S- Predominant coffee and vanilla aroma. Plenty of milk chocolate and caramel as well. There's even a hint of cookie dough.

T- Luscious chocolate and vanilla with some mocha also present. Quite sweet but not overly so as the malt balances out with a roasty bitterness. Straightforward and effective.

M- Plenty creamy with a robust body and medium carbonation.

O- Hot damn, this is one beautiful stout. Even though there was no actual coffee involved in the brewing, the coffee notes are vibrant and gives beers like FBS, WnB and CCB Cubano Espresso a run for their money

Brasserie Dieu Du Ciel - Aphrodisiaque (Aphrodite) - 11.5fl oz bottle

Look - Pours a thinner oil black with a small mocha head that dissipates quickly. Chunks of lacing.

Smell - Deep cocoa chocolate, roasted malt, and hints of vanilla. Aroma is faintly sweet but well balanced.

Taste - Remarkably smooth, cocoa with vanilla sweetness followed by hop bitterness. What a blast!

Mouthfeel - Roasted malt and dark chocolate rest on the palate while hop bitter rests on the front and middle. This is a medium bodied stout with exceptional drinkability. Slightly warming.

Overall - Great stout with an added hop bite, full flavored and unique, more drinkable than most stouts and that isn't a bad thing. The only downside here in the states in the price.
