A - Into my giant snifter, pours a nearly impenetrable DARK brown. A half-finger, tan head sits atop.
S - Coffee, and I mean coffee. Not necessarily fresh coffee, but ground coffee that's been sitting in the freezer for a couple weeks... or the bottom of a grinder. Alcohol on the back end, as well as some roasty malts that add a nice complexity.
T - Tastes a tad like the stale coffee I mentioned. Also noted is powdered cocoa, actual coffee beans, bittersweet chocolate, light vanilla. Reminds me of tiramisu. Hops play lightly in the back in the form of lasting bitterness, but could also have a bit to do with the coffee and dark malts.
M - The mouthfeel sorta blows it for me. I was hoping for less-carbonated, much heavier, and creamier. What I got was a medium bodied, not-so-creamy, overly carbonated coffee drink. To its credit, when I swirl it in the glass, the carbonation is cut to the point where it's no longer sparkly.
D - Drinkability is good on this one, as it goes down easy, and has a wonderful taste. Another good transition brew for those that like coffee but don't really like beer.
Notes: I've had better coffee stouts... Not to say this one's bad, but for the price, I'll take Breakfast Stout for $12 a 4-pack as opposed to the $5 a bottle for this.

Poured black as night, it was served with a collared khaki head of thick foam and had nice lacing.
The scent is nicely varied with chocolate malt, caramel, marshmallow, light espresso and overtures of roasted coffee.
The taste is more coffee-centric, with a strong roast and char presence. Bits of dry chocolate are there but very little sweetness. The beer is smooth, with no visible alcohol presence. Very good flavor, great scent, very good beer.
