Baltimore’s Brew Pub – The story begins in 1888 when 202, 204 and 206 W. Pratt Street were constructed.

At that time, the port of Baltimore was still young and the surrounding neighborhoods quickly became home to many prominent merchants who wanted to live near their businesses. By the mid nineteenth century, W. Pratt Street grew along with the port. In the late 1940s, the building was acquired by the Pratt Furniture Company and remained as such until 1980 when it housed it’s first bar and grill, P.J. Cricketts. Then in 1992, the Olivers turned P.J. Cricketts into the Wharf Rat.

The brewery produced beer in-house starting in 1993 (until 2015) and has created award-winning ales ever since, making Oliver Breweries one of Baltimore’s longest-running brew pub.

The building that has been home to some of Baltimore’s favorite bars now houses the city’s best ale house and brew pub, Pratt Street Ale House. Whether you’re looking for a great happy hour or nightlife spot, a place to enjoy delicious burgers, pizza and more or your new favorite sports bar to watch the game, Pratt Street Ale House has something for everyone. We also offer a private party room where you can host your next banquet, event or private party. And with our friendly and experienced staff, your visit to Pratt Street Ale House is guaranteed to be unforgettable.

At the Pratt Street location.

Nice neighborhood bar feel.

Food was generous and all good, well-made , and actually hot.

Beer was solid to very good.

Service was friendly, quick, and accurate.

Overall a nice place to go if you're in the neighborhood. :)

Around the corner from my hotel, so convenient for me. Stones throw from the Inner Harbor. 6 Oliver taps and a few others. Lots of foot traffic from the tourists, quiets down as you get colder to closing. Service is good, but unenthusiastic. Food available, did not eat. If you're doing the tourist thing, this is right in the wheelhouse

Sat at the Bar. Bartenders seemed knowledgeable and friendly. Located close to the Inner Harbor and Convention Center. Much available on tap, both house (Oliver Brewing) and guest brews, including imported. Food decent and in good portions. Try it when in Baltimore!!

On vacation with the family. Reminds me a lot of the Iron Hill brewery chains in PA/NJ. The thing I can say differently than Iron Hill is the food is amazing. Top of the line. The staff is good and attentive... But the beers are mediocre. A lot of them to choose but nothing that really pulls you in. Even with it's mediocrity it's a must try if you're in the area. Also watch the can dates. I just bought a mix a six and noticed it was 22 months past it's bottling date or expiration date. No way too tell. Not a biggie if it was something worth holding on to but not for a pale ale.

The bar food was outstanding and the beer wasn't too shabby either. We went t five breweries with Pratt Street being the last on the list. It was a nice way to end the day.

Sports bar vibe with lots of big screen TVs; across the street from Convention Center and a block from Camden Yard baseball park. Oliver's Brewing makes beer (on site?) which is good with a nod toward English styles. The food is very good, from soups, salads, sandwiches and even fish tacos, all were tasty and reasonably priced. Large outdoor seating area. Other regional/national beers on tap too. And they have 3 or 4 cask beers on tap, with growlers to go!

Staying at a hotel a few blocks away. The place had a nice crowd. I only tried one beer, the COVENTRY Cream ESB Nitro. It was so good I didn't want to try anything else. The selection was good for a place that sells its own beer. The fish tacos were ok, nothing great. I never had to wait for a beer so the service was good. Would recommend if you are in the inner harbor and don't want to travel walk to Max's or Alewife.

Overpriced flights. Really noisy atmosphere. All of the beers had a sourish taste and not in a good way. I didn't get food but my friend's burger looked all right, nothing special.

Sits across from the convention center in downtown Baltimore. A smattering of tables outside, bar against the right side wall tables to the left in two rooms. They had a dozen or so beers on tap with a couple of guest taps as well. Their beer was decent, nothing earth shattering, I tried a stout and a dark ale and both were serviceable. Friendly attentive staff even as an influx of beer geeks filled the place up for lunch. I had a pretty good chicken ceaser salad. Pricing was about what I would expect in a touristy area. I'd stop in if in the area again.

Stopped here before a concert at the Royal Farms Arena. Really good vibe, with pretty good food... Service was just so-so. Thinking I caught them on an off night with service. Probably the go-to spot if your heading down to the arena

Not a bad place to drink if you are in the Baltimore area. Service was a little slow when I was there but the bar was packed. The selection is decent and the food was pretty good. Worth a stop in if you have time to kill.

Watch out for bronies! A My Little Pony convention that was happening across the street sure added a little oomph to the area, and indeed the Pratt Street Ale House. Tables spilling out onto the street, and nearly all tables full. The ale house is large, and there is a second floor which me and my brother were taken to. Even on the second level, multiple rooms were found, giving each area its own feel rather than a single large potluck of drunks. There was even a small bar near us! Great activity going on inside and outside, and it looks like little has changed with the cosmetics since its opening.

I knew that I was coming for a good time based on its beer menu. Many of the beers are based on the British tradition, and there were 14 listed (but out of two). It's hard enough to find mild ale or bitter, so I was thrilled to find both styles being brewed here. In addition, there was an Irish Red, English Porter, English Strong Ale, and Oatmeal Stout brewed in house. I had the mild and bitter, and both light ales had enough flavor to keep me drinking without bloating me. To top it off, several guest taps were welcome to the scene (Bells, Unibroue, Yards, Southern Tier, DC Brau).

Crab mac n' cheese....yum. It came in a very generous portion too. Matching the food was the service, which came at a good pace, and plenty of checking up on our statuses.

Well, that was worth the hour drive from northern Virginia, now let's go back. But wait, there's more of Baltimore to see!

This place was pretty good, but it made it difficult to enjoy their beers because they were out of 6 of the dozen or so that they offer. Luckily I was able to try the Ironman Pale Ale, which was pretty tasty. Wish I could have tried their Draft Punk IPA though, or the Wheat Ale they offer.
