12oz stubby bottle into tulip pint glass. (Like the "traditional" Guinness glasses)

A: opaque. Black. Some Coke-colored highlights when held up to light. Small head that fades to some coffee-colored lace. No doubt it'll stick to the sides of the glass. This stuff looks pretty viscous.

S: Dark fruit, alcohol, brown sugar/molasses (?), coffee/roasted malt. In that order.

T/M: Viscosity is as predicted under "appearance." It coats the palate and leaves a coffee-like bitterness for an aftertaste. Also gives a warming sensation on swallowing, like good whiskey. Has a brown sugar- or molasses-like sweetness up front, and the dark fruit from the aroma hits between that sweetness and the bitter aftertaste. Carbonation is present and adds a bit of acidity, but does little to cut the viscosity.

D: Very drinkable, to the point of being deceptive. It smells like alcohol, but it doesn't taste like alcohol, which can lead to drinking it too fast.
