A - Just barely short of black. Head is pretty thin, but a constant ring remains around the edges that leave some pretty decent lacing.

S - I don't really get much on the nose from this one. Mostly just alcohol and dark roasted malts.

T - Chocolaty and raisiny. Bitterness is pertinent thruout the taste, first from the bitter chocolate malt then from the hops. I don't actually taste much of the alcohol that was in the nose.

M - heavy and right.

Pretty tasty brew. Its not as complex and dynamic as I would like, but I'm definitely starting to pick up different things as it warms. Particularly, the alcohol.

12 oz bottle was poured into a snifter.

Appearance: This beer poured a one finger mocha head that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pitch black color with no clarity or bubbled seen coming up the glass. Nice lacing on the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Roasted coffee, mocha, smoke, sweet malts, a little booze, and molasses. Pretty standard RIS aroma.

Taste: Same as above with lingering bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, full bodied, low carbonation, and a little boozy.

Overall: Pretty solid RIS. Enjoyed in the past, now, and more in the future.
