Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout pours a tar black from a 12 fl. oz. dark brown glass bottle with a pry off cap.
Head of micro fine foam went to about two fingers and stayed around in a diminishing form during the entire consumption. Lacing of foam was in ample abundance during the review.
Nose is of delicious raisins and figs, with just the slightest of metallic notes.
Palate is of a viscous fig and coffee with the alcohol making its presents known just before the bite of carbonation appears.
If one were to want to impress dinner guests with an above average brew, this would be it.
