Pours a chestnut brown color with hightlights of ruby.
A tan foamy cap that is quite tall is produced but retention is terrible and the foam fades just as fast as it came. Not even a collar. Not even lacing.

Aroma is of dark fruits sweet candied sugar and some phenolic aromatics.

Flavors run similar to the nose with candied sugar dark sweeten fruits, and cloves.

A smooth dry finish with some warming alcohol.

I like this beer it has broad appeal but lacks depth or richness like the top shelve versions.

Appearance: Dark color, light foam.
Smell: Coffee, chocolate, and caramel. Sweet malts. All good stuff.
Taste: Sweet and soft but with some bitterness, like many Belgians (beers, I mean -- no judgment on the people).
Mouthfeel: Soft and dry. Comes right off the tongue.
Overall: Really nice beer. Can hold its own against traditional Belgians. More serious than its name (which I love -- also love that some of the proceeds go to support the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz).

This is just an ok. It dies not have quite the flavor I was expecting. It is not real bad, just nothing to write special. For the high price I was expecting more, Everything was just average. l will not buy again

Appearance: Mahogany color with some red
Smell- Bready with fruit.

Taste- . Very strong bready malt, with some dark fruit. It is not much balance to it,

Mouthful- mouth was bread taste sticks. It is rather unpleasant.

Overall; It doe not match up with Chimmey . It is just an average beer foir high price.

Appearance: Ruby-brown-maroon..almost purple in a way. Full-bodied. Very unique.

Smell: Plums, raisins, and licorice. Fairly sweet, but some pine as well.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Incredible flavor. Tons of licorice...not a flavor I particularly love, which makes this even more incredible. Thick body, but goes down smoothly with great yeasty carbonation.

Overall Drinkability: I loved this beer. Really surprised it isn't rated higher.
