Full name is Persha Privatna Browarnya Chorne
Deep brown in colour, tan low-resistant head with big bubbles, no lace at all. Smell - caramel, wine, dark chocolate & typical for this brewery tone of disinsectant. Taste - sweet roasted malt, hop well hidden, then apricots & awful chemical disinsectant aftertaste. Gruesome one. It demanded great efforts to drink it up. Nothing similar to porter, just like poor dark lager, unfortunately.

This is a hair better than another 6.8%er from this brewer. Poured at a good temperature with a thick, foamy, frothy, fizzy head that rapidly settles down and a bit of lace. Color is a dark, clear ruby. Aroma is malt, wet grain, hint of roast and molasses. Flavor’s like nose, again like the other, quite sweet, but has the roast coming out a smidgen. Also again, happy to have some carbonic tang to balance, but it’s too fizzy, and barely any bitter. Body is like last time, though a tad better. Finish is likewise like flavor and the last, just a bit better, but not good enough to want another.

Chorne means "Black" in Ukrainian.
A: Dark Dark Brown/Black with a garnet hue on the edges of the glass. Light tan head, about an inch think, when poured. It dissipates quickly to almost nothing. There's a hint of lacing around the edges of the pub glass.
S: Mostly sweet alcohol with some caramel in there. Overall the smell isn't strong. I had to search for something.
T: Light roasti-ness is slightly overpowered by the alcohol warmth. Although it's not overpowering. The finish is a mix of light licorice and fruit-like malt. It tastes a bit like a dunkel instead of a porter.
M: Even with the alcohol presence, the feel is easy to drink with moderate carbonation and a nice, yet slightly thin, body.
O: This is a good brew from the best brewery in Ukraine. I'm here in Ukraine, trying to find something decent beyond the usual watered-down garbage. Persha Privatna stands as the best by far. Chorne is my go-to beer so far in this country riddled with crap commercial lagers. PPB beers have more character than the others here, even within the darker varieties which tend to be just black versions of bud light (IMO).

Got this one in Lviv, where it is brewed, I consumed quite a lot of it in the train when going hiking, and brought back one bottle to review as I grew quite fond of it.
Deep dark colour, almost black; off-white head in one finger thickness which disappears instantly, no lacing. Aroma is not very strong, some caramel , figs and bit of dark chocolate. Taste is mild spicy dark fruit first, overcome by slighly roasted sweetish maltiness and licorice-like finish, quite interesting. It is very smooth, above medium mouthfeel, but it might be a bit too light for the style.
One of the best Ukrainian porters I have encountered. It does not taste like typical Baltic porter, feels like there was some Dunkel added. Excellent.

A light smooth mouthfeel , dark amber colour.A damn good porter, sourness but smoothed out by malts, surprisingly good brought by Oakes for Radekfest 05. My 11th sample. Belarus makes the majors. Worth trading for, maybe even visiting for the ambitous.
