The quality of the beer at the Bullfrog is excellent, and very creative. Their IPA has a lot of nice flavor, and probably the best IPA that I have had the pleasure of drinking in a brew pub. They have a great selection to choose from, but I stuck with the IPA because it was so good. The food is very, very good and creative as well. The night I was there they had an acoustic music group that really added to the already cool atmosphere. The bartender at the Bullfrog was very knowledgeable and is largely responsible for turning me on to Beer Advocate. This place is worth stopping in for a beer or two or three.

One of my favorite places. The beer selection is fantastic - usually 7-10ish beers on draft, also a great selection of spirits. Pub atmosphere, also one of the premier live music venues in the area. Lots of locally sourced ingredients on the menu - beef, bread, pork, greens, veggies, even coffee & tempeh. Also a good selection of vegetarian & vegan options.

After months & months of hearing about Bullfrog Brewery I finally made the trip to Williamsport. Glad I did!!!
My one complaint if any would be that you seat yourself because, though it was a Tuesday evening, and not that crowded, our waitress didn't come to our table as quick as I would have thought upon initially sitting down. No big deal though because it can't be easy to keep track. Once we did get our menus & drinks & that, she was there whenever I needed!!!
On tap was Inspiration Red, Edgar IPA, Billtown Blonde, Apricot Wheat, Nut Brown Ale, Double Coffee Stout, their Barleywine & one other. Nice selection, loved the Edgar IPA. The tap handle with Edgar Allen Poe was great to see too!!! I found myself thinking about how funny it'd be to say to the tap handle people "Make me a tap handle that resembles Edgar Allen Poe's head".
The menu was huge for a brew pub!!! Burgers, wraps, all kinds of appetizers, the works!!! I thought it was a little pricey, until I got my plate, WOW!!! I didn't leave hungry.
I got a growler of the Billtown, 2 bottles of Edgar IPA to go. Not too keen on tye dye shirts so I help up on them.
If you're in the Williamsport area stop!!! Well worth it. I wish I lived closer to Williamsport, I'd probably be there everyday.
Now I see what all the hype is/was about & will continue to be!!!

What can I say about the Bullfrog? Its where I had my 21st birthday dinner. Not that that was the first time I had a beer in the place, but it is THE one place I get to when I am back in Williamsport.
Atmosphere is great, always a steady flow of people, a good mix between the Bullfrog bar flies, new customers and people who just love to come back for the food and the beer. The pressed-tin painted copper ceiling with copper barrels as you walk in really sets the place off, you can really see them at night when walking down 4th street.
If you are coming with a group to eat you want to sit in the front or near the bar at one of the high tables, the back room does not have the best atmosphere and gets extremely hot in the summertime. The last time I was in I think they forgot to turn on the air back there, so luckily got to move up front into the cooler air of the bar area. Anyways, sit up front near a window, this way if a band comes in to play you are right there. Speaking of the music, they really do get a good mix of quality jazz on most weekend nights.
Service is great, I don't think I have had a waitress or bartender that could not tell me which beer was best to try or their favorite. I know this should be a given at bar like they this, but even still i find it a great quality in the place.
Selection of beer is always good. Always have a blonde, red ale and a good IPA. Recently they have had a good barleywine or tripel on tap. in addition they also have a good stout of some variety, which is always a good night cap.
Food, well if this place did not serve great beer I would still come here for the food. At least the wings, by far my favorite anywhere. The wings are huge and they flavor selection is great. Try the hot and the honey mustard, and if you are daring tast their Amphibian inferno, hottest wing I have ever had. Besides the wings, most everything else on the menu is great. Sweet potato fries, salads and good steaks, just a well balanced menu.

Arrived here with the Lancaster Brewers on a club trip. Was our first stop on the day and was absolutely wonderful. The place has copper on the ceiling(probably mostly paint)(edit:was told that it was not paint, but true copper...my bad), brew holding tanks behind bar, and pictures of frogs all around. The tap handles are very unique and cool. I really liked the tree root for the root beer. Ordered the special of spicy chicken tender sandwich and garlic fries which were pretty tasty. The menu was full of sandwiches and burgers. The price was around $8 which might be a tad high. One cool thing that I haven't seen before is the wooden tray that they put on the bar for your food. Makes it much easier to eat. The bartender was very friendly and informative about other area bars. And now the most important part...the beers. I think I tried almost all of them through sharing. The Unique(a single style belgian) was tasty and nice at 5%. I really liked the Edgar IPA...very full of hop resins. The Tripel was good also. One weird aspect(or complaint) is that the Tripel and Single were the same price $5. I would like to have seen Unique be around $4. They had an unusual offering of their take on a sour. It was a mixture of the Apricot wheat and Unique thrown in a Oaked barrel and left with some wild yeast. It really wasn't that strong of a sour, but nonetheless tasty. Stopped back later for one more and a band was playing which is very cool. This place is awesome and a definite stop or a daytrip.

Attended the El Diablo Deluxe Release and had lunch at the brewery. It is a top quality brew pub with a spectacular atmosphere. Very nice layout and design to enjoy a great lunch. The food is great and the beers are tremendous. The price for everything is great. $5 for an empty growler. Enjoyed some awesome tap beer and even opened a bottle of el diablo deluxe. The old world porter was the keg gone wild and was splendid (wish it was bottled). All around a great and must see place if you are within a days drive. A great beer destination.

Stopped in the Bullfrog on two consecutive nights on a weekend hiking trip. Don't get scared away by the hostess- both times we were told it would be a wait of an hour or more, but they sat us after less than a half hour. When we returned the second night, all the staff remembered us and was super-friendly. Typical brewery food options- lots of burgers, salads, steak. Fish sandwich was average but french dip was excellent and desserts were tasty. Good range of beer selections. Oatmeal Stout was close to out of this world. Even the Billtown Blonde, although I don't normally drink beers this light in color, had a great smooth flavor. Bullfrog gets especially high marks from me for the price: PINTS ARE JUST THREE BUCKS!

Ah, the Bullfrog. Such fond memories for me. It was my hangout back when I was in college up there in Williamsport from '96-'98. The food is fabulous, the beer is consistently good with some real gems, and the place is gorgeous! For being crammed downtown on the main drag, they really did a great job setting the place up. With the big copper tank at the entrance, the gorgeous bar, fermenting tanks visible behind the bar, high ceiling, and relaxed casual atmosphere, it's just a place that I feel comfortable. The food is wonderful, huge selection, and it has everything from unique cuisine to bar food. Then another draw for me was the nightlife. They consistently brought in wonderful unknown bands, lots of jazz. I still listen to my Wayne Horvitz and Zony Mash CD I bought after seeing them for free at the Bullfrog Halloween night '97. Great time! And that's the thing, they'd rarely charge cover, and when they did it would only be like $3 to see an amazing band. I know a lot of the staff left the Bullfrog to come down to my town (State College, PA) and open Otto's, but it was good to see that the Bullfrog is still making tasty brews and excellent food and bringing in the killer jams! One of my favorite brewpubs. If you're ever traveling along I-80 through PA, it's worth the detour to stop in.

Was with a small group of good friends on Saturday March 22. This was our main destination and with good reason. Bullfrog is a small brewery that IMO can capture the world's brewing styles well. A Belgian single which only screamed out more. A triple, an American IPA, couple of stouts, an American blonde, Apricot wheat, and a wild ale of the apricot and belg. single blended and aged in a barrel w/ a sour strain yeast.
The food was general good pub food and definitely satisfied.
Copper everywhere from the kettles to the pressed ceiling. Hanging plants in the windows for me enhanced an already extremely comfortable place to hole up for a couple hours.
My first trip back in 8 years...I shall not let that much time go by again before another visit.
